   I think "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" by Mary Ann Shaffer might make a really good movie. We had this book as the book of the month at our library book club this month, and many suggested it as a good base for a movie.
   
   It is a very good story and has a good ending.
   
   The books structure is a series of letters and telegrams between about twenty people, so basically most of the script would be there, it is just translating it to film. How would one translate the letters to give the characters on screen something to say.
   
   If you haven't read the book it is a joy.  Hopefully the movie would be too.

   About a year ago I read this series call The Mediator by Meg Cabot.  It's about a girl who can see ghosts and she helps them so that they can cross over.  If you've ever seen the show Ghost Whisperer, it's sort of like that.  But this girl is a teenager who is also dealing with going to high school and ordinary teenage things while helping these ghosts.  She also falls in love with the ghost, Jesse, who is living in her house.   There's 6 books in the series.  I guess it would be along the lines of Twilight type stuff, but obviously teens like that.

   Lots of books, but currently I just finished reading one of Danielle Steel. One day At A Time.. It would be amazing to watch it as a movie

   I would love to see the rest of Phillip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy made into films but I guess that won't happen since 'The Golden Compass' didn't do as well as they hoped at the box office.

   The Remember Me series by Christopher Pike. It's got 3 books, but have only been able to read the first so far. It's about a girl who's at a friends birthday party and basically wakes up dead. She doesn't know what happen and spends the rest of the story trying to figure out who killed her and that's not so easy when you have limited abilities. I would love to see this made into a movie, possibly a trilogy (a movie for each book).

   I just finished reading SOME OF MY LIVES by Rosamond Bernier, a memoir.  Now in her 90's, Rosamond Bernier lived and worked in Paris for VOGUE magazine after World War II.  She knew most of the famous people there at the time, including Picasso, Matisse, Miro, and many others.  In addition to that, she is extremely literate; reading her book is a pleasure.  She was also a speaker and gave many speeches on the arts.  Finally, she was fashion conscious; she wore clothes from many of the coutouriers of the day.  In my mind, a movie based on her book and her "lives" would be a visual masterpiece.

   Not many movies adapted from books are truthful to the scource on which they are based, so there are few books I would like to see made into a movie. However, if the movie were made with every intention of being close to the book, had hard work put into it, and not just trying to sale an already popular title, I would like to see a movie made of Howl's moving castle. There has already been an animated movie, but I would like to see a live action one.

   This is Where I Leave You.   It's fun (if a bit raunchy) and almost reads like a movie script. After a year, it's the first book that everyone in my bookclub actually finished!
