Just thought that I'd pass on another writing site I just came across today. It's called Factoidz and you write short articles answering questions that people on the side ask. I haven't written anything yet. You earn money and are paid through Pay Pal based on views. So far it seems that you don't have to be a US writer to earn.

Has anyone else here written for them?

If you are interested there is a link to the site on my profile.

I have 8 articles published on Factoidz. They used to be called gabwith.US and used to buy articles outright then changed and became a site with adsense etc. The money is very slow coming.

UW, I've never heard of them.  Seems like it's worth looking at (once this Halloween/Trick or Treat thing is over  smile  ).  Thanks for posting.  (God seems to have unloaded all the leaves from all the trees right onto the walkway the kids will be using tonight between last night and now.  I just discovered it looks like someone raked six acres' worth of leaves and dumped the piles on my walkway.  smile  I didn't plan on that surprise.  smile  )

Darkside my articles on Factoids are also under Zsuzsy Bee. I only have 8 but quit writing there because they used to pay outright for articles then went to adsense etc... and if I'm writing using adsense I prefer hubpages. I do earn a whooping 50 cents on average from those 8 articles per week but I get a lot more here on hubpages

How much did they used to pay per article?

I don't mind rev share. It's passive income. Evergreen articles work really well longterm.

I'm not using Factoidz at the moment but I am using two other writing programs and that has been working out for me. I had signed up quite a while ago when I first started writing on them but I then signed myself up again and have been getting people to sign up which then allows me to earn more money. So I get paid to write and for signing people up. Not bad huh?

      Off topic?

      Spam?

I'm pretty sure that this thread is about Factoidz. Not about other places where you publish and try and get people to sign up under you.

As I was writing it I knew it would come out to look like spam. However, I did not intend for it to be entirely for my benefit. Simply, I am letting people who read this thread know about alternate means of getting paid to write content on the internet.

In the Terms of Use is 9 and 10 referring to two different ways of making revenue?

Am I reading it (9) correctly that you can insert your Adsense Publisher ID?

They've simply copied the old HubPages TOS almost verbatim.  They didn't even bother changing the address in the last section.  I'd be a little wary of a site that operates like that.

My goodness, they have been naughty!

There have been some changes though, which they haven't updated in the ToS. There's no Adsense revenue or impression split. It's per thousand impressions and they pay via Paypal. So I'll keep an eye on the site, but thankfully my Adsense Publisher account won't be at risk.

Thanks for the heads up Paul!

It must have felt like deja vu as you perused through their Terms of Use.

that right there is enough for me. if they want to attract writers they should know how important things like that are to them.

I published my first factoid almost 3 weeks ago, so its still early days yet, but they do indeed pay. Got a buck-o-two in my Paypal account today. No mess, no fuss.

I wrote a hub about Factoidz. As I sifted through the help, faq, advice and also experimented to find the answers to the most basic questions and have them all on the one page. It's a good secondary site. I wouldn't go overboard with the backlinks to hubs, but it'll work in well for those who don't like having all their eggs in one basket.

I'll be elaborating on this further in my hub, and in my blogs, and elsewhere, but in the meantime let me give this warning to people who are using or are thinking of using Factoidz...

The Site Admin has changed the rules and payment structure several times, yet not updated the Terms of Use (the one he stole from HubPages). The changes have resulted in less money for writers, and he removed some important stats, so you can't see how much you're earning. A lot of things have become hidden and secretive.

Any post not 100% in favor of his unannounced changes (when someone brings it up) gets deleted.

Because of these reasons, and more, I have been emailing the Site Admin requesting my account be closed and my articles deleted. No response, so I made a thread about it. Others in the same situation added their names to the request.

I just got an email from the Site Admin, Michael Quoc, and he said that he can close my account, but he will be keeping my articles.

I've read a couple of hubs that tell pretty much the same story as yours. I also read in what passes for a forum over there, that they only pay for organic views. You can link to your factoids all you want, but views that come from those links are not paid.
