      Seen this and about a hundred others with various outcomes 30 years ago. There was also a book  out that debunked it.

         It's not for every one. I guess anything can be debunked.
         
         I still think it's fascinating though. I certainly wouldn't try to predict anything using Bible codes, but it raises the question, "what if?"

      I think the theory that the bible is allegory for astrology/zodiac code is more plausible eg the significance of the numbers 12, 7, 3;  Jesus story parallels path of sun through signs of zodiac; heaven & hell & more.

   I doubt that any man... before its time reveal... that which is unknown... least the author if that work... adjure and repent himself of the work of his hands... for if it be allowed to know whats to come... then man his agency would lie at the feet of he who knows... for in knowing a fate that person creates.

   Aka-dj, I heard about this book years ago. The author tried to take recent historical events and matched them up with sayings in the Bible. Basically, he was working backwards to make this work. It turn out that there were a lot of holes in the codes. They really were not codes just random numbers. People have been doing this for centuries trying to use the Bible as an instrument for predicting the future. People 2,500 years ago thought the world was going to end soon based on their intepretation of the Bible back then. Remember, the future is a series of events that have not happen yet and these events can not happen until the future become the present. You or anyone can not predict the future because that event has not occurred yet and is determined by the decisions you make now in the present.

      As both I and the author of the hub said, we are NOT predicting anything, but it's interesting that it works out as it does.
      
      Didd you get the point that was made, how this process/method ONLY works in the Bible.
      It does NOT work in any other "holy" book.
      
      I do not base my life on this type of thing, but it's fascinating to me, so I shared it wit (all/any) of you. Thanks for reading and commenting.

         aka-dj,  I admire you for posting this and pointing others to the hub you mentioned.  However, I have to say (reluctantly) that I did read several years ago of scientists who were able to achieve the same sort of results with other books (not specifically holy books, though).  I don't know if any other studies have been done since then to revise those findings.
         
         The linked hub did get so detailed that I wasn't able to take it all in when I read it.  Maybe I should reread it to see what else I can find in it or learn from it.
         
         The bottom line for me, though, is that a lot of people seem to want predictions for the future, when all it really takes is a good look at the world around us to see pretty strong hints as to what sort of future is likely.  And (part of the bottom line) if people would follow the parts of the Bible that provide good advice about how to live with one another, then we could change the possibilities for the future in a positive way.

            This was all the rage at one point.
            Satan certainly has his own message(s), and how he gets them to us varies drastically. I'd say, whatever works, he'll happily use.

   I once found a code in the bible which read, "all those who look for codes in me would do better to read the text"   I think that was the last time I went looking.

      That's good advice.
      The text is WAY more important than any code found with this type of study.
