This was on a church marquee sign I saw last night. I almost stopped the car to throw a rock at it, but there were too many people around.
I've always thought pictures of those wacky church signs with there wacky, sinister and sometimes helpful sayings would make a good coffee table book.
What church signs have you seen that were funny, infuriating, enlightening or otherwise caught your attention?
Well, I saw a movie the other night with a gaudy looking neon sign outside a church which read "One way road to heaven".
I wonder if an asbestos suit would work in Hell. Oh wait - I forgot, our bodies don't go with us when/if we go to wherever we're supposed to be headed..
(Still, don't throw rocks at church signs. You never know.... )
I have seen some really strange ones at a church by my mother's house. I don't remember what they said, exactly, but they were always really strange, and even a little disturbing.
Good advice, LisaHW. No doubt.
I call those signs "drive by church" because, since I don't go to church, I figure I will just read the signs as if they are "signs"...you know, like "a sign from god"?
I used to have to drive 30 miles out in the country up in N. GA to go to work every night and I passed like 4 or 5 of them...I would always look for meaning of some type in the messages and try to apply it to whatever my current life dilemma was.
This "church sign as life advice" method has to be at least as useful as a fortune cookie...hey, maybe the church's should start putting lucky lotto numbers on their signs, too!?

If you were a sign, a road sign, which one would you be and why?In find that in creative writing you don't need much inspiration, one line must be enough, even one word. I used to ask people "What sign are you?" until I got that one "STOP". The guy was very funny -...

My personal opinion is that, YES, most Christians believe in God out of fear. And that starts when they are children. When a child is taken to church and told that he/she will burn eternally in the fiery pits of hell unless they follow the rules of the Bible and God's word, that...

You can also talk about specific placements (such as moon or mercury, etc.) ...... Again What zodiac signs do you don't get along with? Why?

I feel that believing in one religion is not practical. Likewise, there is no way of knowing if there is one God, or any God for that matter. I'm not saying there's not either, though I do trust science it only goes so far... Some things will always be left unexplained. The bottom line is that with...
