      I have lots of movies that I really love.  One that I have recently watched was The Pursuit of Happyness staring Will Smith.  What an inspiring story and what great love was shown by Chris, Will Smith's character) to his son.  I think that the washroom part was haunting.  Just imagining that someone actually went through that.  What made the movie extra good was the interview with the original Chris about his experiences and his thoughts and feelings about that time in his life when he was so poor that he was homeless and the amount of effort he put into his life to turn it around and still be there for his son and how he has gone on to help others.  Truly an inspiring man!

   The Fisher King - Starring Robin Williams, Jeff Bridges, supported by Amanda Plummer and co-star Mercedes Ruehl who won an oscar for her role.  It's funny, oddball romantic way often gives way to a dark undercurrent. This is a modern New York fairytale filled with dark knights and quests and even the Holy Grail...sorta. Ballroom dancing in Grand Central Station, Lying around naked in Central Park trying to move clouds.  You get every emotion out of this movie, because each scene is built upon the previous one. It gets better and better until the satisfying ending of fireworks come.
             This movie is Terry Gilliam's masterwork.  It's even better than '12 Monkeys', 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' and 'Brazil', all of which I love. This is also the best script ever by Richard LaGravenese. (The Ref, Freedom Writers) The story goes that Director Terry Gilliam's agent sent him the script simply as an example in diverse storytelling and he called back and said "I wanna do it." Filming began in May of 1990 and a classic was born.

   My favorite movie is not a Hollywood movie at all.
   
   Its a Hong Kong movie directed by John Woo and starring Chow Yun Fat long before they both came to Hollywood called The Killer.
   
   Apart from that my favorite movie is Casino with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone.

   I really think my favorite movie of all time is Powder, starring Sean Patrick Flanery.  It's an incredibly emotional science fiction drama about a brilliant albino boy with strange telekinetic powers.  He struggles to fit in but the world won't accept him.  It calls out to the outcast and the special qualities in all of us.  I highly reccommend it to everyone.
   
   I normally like musical movies, so I guess it's no surprise that I think Powder would make an excellent musical.

   Star Wars
   Ice Age
   
   The last two were from my grandson!

    Thats a tough one, although I would have to say Good Will Hunting, with Matt Damon and Robin Williams is one of my favs of all time.  Shawshank Redemption would be a close second.

    It's really tough to pick just one. Putting aside Bing Crosby's 1949 Mark Twain fantasy, "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court," which isn't easy, my favorite is, "Gunga Din," the 1939 classic adapted from Rudyard Kipling's famous poem. Cary Grant, Victor McLaglen, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Joan Fontaine, and Sam Jaffe (in the title role) are superb, as is the story. I must add that "12 Angry Men" along with "And Then There Were None" are nipping at the heels of my No. 1 favorite.

    Kia Ora from lil New Zealand.
    Man I've seen alot of movies, and my fav. would have to be HEAT (1995)
    It's a great character study of many different people on both sides of the law, is not just a boys cops and robbers flick, it has many levels to it that both Men and Women can relate to or feel for.
    The brillant Los Angeles at night filmed in a way never seen before, breathtaking...Many kudos to it's writer and director, Michael Mann.

    Wow you guys had a lot of my favorites in there but HOLY GOD!  How could Ghost rider with Nic cage be your favorite movie?   that is a joke right?  I laughed so hard that started hyperventilating and my wife had to tell me to calm down.  LOLOLOL
    Ghost Rider?  Get out much?

       And it's good to see that not everyone has a parochial attitude to cinema.
       
       I would also choose Marcel Carne's Les Enfants du Paradis and Francois Truffaut's Jules et Jim.

    Con Air, action, cheesy memorable lines and John Malkovich as the ultimate villain.
    
    I can watch that film any time, especially when I got the uncut version last year!  Extra Awesome!

    Just remembered: Old Boy, no film has ever had me so gobsmacked by the end. 
    
    I don't think I've ever seen a western film carry out such a massive twist like that in my entire life.
    
    If you haven't seen Old Boy or any of the other Vengeance trilogy I thoroughly recommend them.

    Almost Famous, Immortal Beloved, Across the Universe, Forrest Gump, Run Lola Run, and yeah maybe some funny movies with Adam Sandler and/or Drew Barrymore in them

    well i thought id put my two cents in i agree with the Ghost Rider remark and have to also agree with the Old Boy remark quite a good ending but surprised i didnt see such titles like Seven ?how about Identity? has been movies? yes! but still hold up quite well over time if you havnt seen the aforementioned i suggest u hold on to your fav movie choice as for me well Sin City changed everything for me

    Hands down - GLADIATOR - a strong man getting his just revenge for his family's murder. 
    
    Also loved Usual Suspects - - every piece of the puzzle fit together perfectly.
    
    Musically - The Red Violin and Amadeus both had amazing stories.
    
    Oldies - Best Years of our Lives and On the Town
    
    I know there's a bunch more, but that's the top of my list.

    Yes, Seven (or se7en...whatever) I loved that film, and gladiator too.  It's so hard picking one movie that is your vaorite though!
    
    I cansee why people are rattling lists of excellent films as well as single films, there's so much choice!
