I'm getting my latest cancer test results today...

   and I'm a nervous wreck! I go in at 2 this afternoon. I rarely even think about my multiple myeloma cells except when it's test time. At that point, my BP rises to 200/100, when it's normally 120/70 or lower. I've told the nurses that a stroke will kill me before the cancer does. lol

      I'll be thinking of you.  I usually feel confident that I've kicked the cancer, especially on days when I feel healthy and energetic, but going in for tests is STILL nerve-wracking!!  Such a roller-coaster ride of fears, trying to talk yourself into thinking it will all be okay.
      
      The upside, is when you do get results, and they're clean, it is SUCH a relief, and you feel even BETTER that you have confirmed that you are doing well!!

            It's been almost 6 years for me, and I had an aggressive cancer that should have recurred after a year or two - knowing that I've made it this far helps!!
            
            But it doesn't stop the horrible sinking feeling you get anticipating tests...

   I do hopeit is a good result- no good trying to tell you to stay calm! Write a hub, or clean a cupboard- anything to take your mind off the test!

   When you go in there, think of how many people are thinking of you and saying a prayer for your well-being today!I'll say a prayer at 2:00 for all to go well.It's easy to see what a vibrant and wonderful person you are through your writing and you have touched many, including me! Try to let that thought make your load a little lighter.

    Thanks, pals! I've never regretted posting personal "stuff" here because fellow hubbers are always so supportive. Seriously, your comments, thoughts, and prayers made me feel better.
    
    My "bad" numbers increased from 1100 to 1300, which is bad. Everything else, however, was normal, which is good! Now I can put this on the back burner for six more months. lol
    
    Oh, how I wish my oncologist/hematologist could be my regular doctor - he's wonderful!

       It means that I have multiple myeloma cells, but I don't have enough of them yet to be diagnosed with MM. Every time I get tested, the numbers are higher. This is pretty scary. My favorite aunt had MM and survived for only 10 months after being diagnosed.
       
       The specific type of cells I have can cause neuropathy, but I already have neuropathy/nerve damage from spinal issues, so I don't know if my MM cells are contributing to that or not.
       
       My bone marrow biopsy showed 5-10% plasma cells. An MM diagnosis is usually made at 10%. MM causes "holes" in the bones and extreme anemia. Thank goodness, I don't have either of these. My hemoglobin is high now, and my bone density is awesome. The surgeon doing my bone marrow biopsy told my hubby that he had to chisel like heck to get through my hip bone!
