New HP profile is awesome

   I did a quick (not thorough) forum search to make sure this topic wasn't already created.  Apologies if it has been.
   
   Anywho, I just wanted to announce my gratification with the new HP profile.  I think it is a 400% improvement on the International Profile Look Scale (a scale I may or may not have just made up). 
   
   Congrats to the HP team on this one.

   I disagree.
   
   In my opinion, the background image makes the profile look overfussy and amateurish. The cycling hub feature at the top is irritating.
   
   Once this is imposed on everyone, I will make a proper profile elsewhere on the web. My first statement here will be to invite readers to visit my real profile, where they will find a classified listing of my hubs plus whatever other information I wish to supply. My second statement will be an apology that HP policy forces them to copy and paste the relevant address, rather than having an active link provided.

      The background image is up to you.  If you prefer, you can upload a small solid-colored rectangle PNG image. When it's tiled your background will just be that color.  They also have a default light gray option.

      You can upload a plain, white background. Just look for a white square on any free web background site.
      
      I do miss having the HubPages posts listed by category, but, they never showed all of them so it was a bit wasted that way. I prefer having all the posts up. People can use Ctrl+4 and search for any word they choose on your profile page.

   I love the new look. I have changed my profile. I like the featured hubs area and love the fact that the rest of the hubs are under that. Nice looking and professional.

      You have one of the prettier profiles I've seen so far. The green in your background looks well with the green from HubPages.

   I agree! I love this and often I can't say I approve of new changes on websites but this is wonderful!

   I really like the change. I think that the background image gives a really personal feel to the profile.
   
   The design itself is really clean looking. I especially like how it has a "read more" for longer profiles.

    I like it in some respects as it looks cleaner and professional.
    What I don't like about it is I that cannot leave links to my other pursuits.I have written out the address so readers can copy and paste into the browser. For some reason ,every time I edit,the profile disappears. Oh well.

       My referral tracking link is gone from my profile. That´s what I don´t like. I have to make it again. Somewhere in my hubs. The bad thing is I forgot how to do it. It will costs me another hour. An hour in which I could spend writing.

    Overall, I like the new look.  It's more 'modern' and professional looking.  I think it is keeping up with the FB trends.  I'm still getting used to it and finding my way around it, though.
