Can anyone explain to me why my recently published, advert moderated and now unpublished page has been moderated?
Here's the link if anyone can Google cache it or whatever you do.
http://markewbie.hubpages.com/hub/The-Writing-Hand-Job
I do not copy anything. Most of my ideas, if cliched and poorly expressed, are my own.
There is no way my page is a duplicate of anythign on the web.
Thanks guys...
No cache to look at, I'm afraid.
Are you sure that it was because of being duplicate?
Was there a stick man that looked a little like a stick man elsewhere on the web? The moderators are not known for being nice about flagrant disregard for the rules and having similar looking stick men could be deemed copying!
Or maybe it was the hand job reference, I would make several smart comments at this point but I would probably find myself moderated out of existence! So maybe I should just hold my own!
So. Which part is duplicated elsewhere HP?
I mean, I understand if someone's sensibilities are threatened - but at least be honest about it.
I saw the word "I" on another hub once, and "hand" also.. maybe you need to use only words that no one else has used to avoid being duplicate?
The full blown F word however is a rarity, maybe you should have used it more!
They do get it wrong from time to time.. send the moderators an email and ask them to not pull it and publish your hub..
Can't answer your question, but you have just provided a reason to never publish it. The hub, unpublished, will definitely be a duplicate if published now - the original is in the forums!
Better delete your post...
It was a throwaway piece of crap - just an excuse to write for twenty minutes. So it's no loss to me or HP... just the principle of the thing.
Is there a chance that you have published it somewhere before, deleted it, then republished it here? I always get that duplicate warning when I do that. All I do is contact hp team and they publish it for me.
Hope this helps solve your problem.
Thanks for your suggestions but I wrote it out of my head this morning. It is not generic recycled stuff and is unique to me I think
Honestly, I think they just pushed the wrong button when telling you what the problem was. I'm guessing they found the title offensive. wilderness is right, though, if you want to republish, you might want to get rid of it here.
Sensibilities were offended somewhere, I'm sure. And, I'm fairly sure that offense was possibly taken by the whole 'write a book, get off the internet writing roller coaster' theme.
Good luck, Ewbie.
Frankly, found it honest and refreshing, myself.
Hi Motown. Yep, I think you are right.
It is offensive inasmuch as you might not want a seven year old to read it but sometimes I despair.
Anything remotely 'challenging' and the ads are removed.
Is this a site for writers or for pre schoolers trying to flog Amazon tat?
In some ways you're right - it is for pre-schoolers.
Blame adsense and google for that, though, not HP. While it is true (I think) that HP bends over backwards to present material that won't offend google in any way it is a "safety" move to protect their (and our) income.
They could have taken the time and trouble to get the classification right. I kind of pride myself on not producing duplicate content.
In a spirit of reconciliation (not) - I have created a new piece. Without any swearing. I suspect the moderators will enjoy it immensely (not).

I am having issues with the hubpages staff. Yesterday I updated a hub that was published in 2009. And notice that I was not allow to resubmit it before it was reviewed. Then I tried to update another one and the same thing. I have since attempted to update a few more and...

Several days ago one of my hubs was unpublished, apparently for affiliate link offences. I'm pretty puzzled by this, as the only affiliate links I ever knowingly use that might benefit me, are Amazon and e-bay, and these are both very safely within the required text to ad ratios. I have now deleted...

By means of substandard quality? One of which has almost 700 views on it. These three hubs have been on here for over a year and are now being flagged although they generate comments and daily reads. I don't understand if they were good enough for the last year and a half and now aren't? Please...

I hope someone can help before I have to throw away a hub that took me 6 hours to produce. It is marked "unpublished for duplication" for no reason that I can discern. Every single word and sentence came from my own head and has never been published online (or anywhere else for that...
