      was it just negativity?  Or actual constructive critisism?  I had someone leave a really shitty comment that was a guest user.  Take it all with a grain of salt and keep on keeping on!

         Just DELETE the negative and hateful comments.  Negative comments have NO PLACE in HubPages either from hubbers(very few and far between) and guests.  Some people have to make themselves heard and lead such miserable lives that they go into ATTACK MODE.
         
         It all boils down to HATRED and JEALOUSY!

      I was a site steward on Helium for a while.  I was very active on the forums there, and one day I joined a discussion about a problematic feature of the site and how it could be improved.
      
      I got a snarky email from Helium saying that as a site steward, I wasn't allowed to voice any criticism of Helium.  My job was to reassure everyone of how great the site was. 
      
      I resigned.
      
      Being "positive" can so easily turn into fawning and brown-nosing.   I think it's healthy if people voice their concerns and disappointments.  In the old days, HubPages used to keep a very close eye on those discussions and the site was improved in many ways as a result.

         Yep. HP was and is a good site. As long as it is not an outright false accusation, we can pretty much say whatever we want.

      Well, lots of people like to see the reactions they can cause by their comments, so this is nothing new. Everyone does it to one extent or another. Some are malicious, others not. Some of the negative comments are obviously for the sake of negativity, whilst others actually make sense. The angrier people get over them, the better some people feel, so no point in taking it seriously.

            It seems silly to take personally a comment from someone we don't know and who doesn't know us. It can't be personal, because it's just an unknown criticizing another unknown.

         Who said I did? I don't. However, I would certainly un-follow someone who makes unfounded accusations; whether against me or anyone else. Fortunately, those are few and far between.

               Yep. And in both cases, they were repeatedly insulting other people. Note I said other people, I wasn't even the one being insulted. In short, I run away from negative people.

                  That's unfair.  I don't condone nasty and degrading comments, but people should be able to speak their mind (within reason).

                     No argument there. As an example, I don't believe in various religious precepts, but many of the people who I continue to follow do. In other words, differences of opinion do not play a factor. Only things like ethics, etc.

         Yes, we treated her and she's now fine. Someone fed her poison. It has to be because we don't set poison there in the country because all the animals have to roam free. It was deliberate and I know which neighbor did it. Thanks for asking

               This is Jamaica, nothing will come of it. If they had probably tied up the dog and beat it then I could have gotten them arrested but they'll just deny they had anything to do with what happened.

                  I'm really sorry to hear that.  People like that will do it again if they are not stopped.  I think you should file a complaint anyway so that at least there is a record if it happens to someone else, too. Can you sue them for the Vet expenses?

                     Suing will cost more than the medical bill. To tell the truth, I'd rather go to jail than make a complaint. I'm feeling like making someone feel pain right now...sorry not thinking or feeling quite rational.

            Well...speaking of negativity....that is ONE NASTY, MEAN, SICK NEIGHBOR!!  Anyone who could try to harm any animal......especially someone's domestic pet (member of their family!)  has serious issues.  Poor baby.......Hope she is OK.  She needs lots of hugs.  That must have been a frightening ordeal for all of you.

               Yes, most of my neighbors are. I really hate my neighborhood. I know that's a mean thing to say but when they  aren't stealing from your property they are devising ways to make you suffer. Argh!
