Sorry to report but I've had some problems with the external website. I tried to fix up the RSS feeds as they weren't picking up all the hubs, and in the process seem to have broken them altogether.
Sincere apologies to all - I will get it fixed eventually but it will mean more Hubs get missed. Although I know a fair bit about Hubbing, I clearly have a lot to learn as a Webmaster!
The good thing is, if everyone is adding a Hubtrail RSS feed to the bottom of each Hubtrail Hub, everyone gets the benefit even if only a few Hubs make it on to the external site.
It seems Hubtrails turned from an idea into a project a bit too quickly, so we're bound to hit a few bumps in the road.
That's OK. It's a project which has fired the imagination of many people and its huge. Thank you so much for your efforts, the site looks great by the way.
Don't worry about it - I think you have all done a fantastic job with this. I wouldn't have had a clue how to bring all this together!
No worries. I think it is neat to see how much demand there is for this. And thanks for helping with it!!
It will sort eventually. The hubtrail has joined many of us together and we will still be a great writing force. Perhaps a computer savvy hubber could help you out
Marisa I just found this post, Let me know if I can help or if I need to find help for you with this.
We appreciate all you are doing Marisa, Ohma, and the rest. We understand about bumps and challenges. I have the RSS feed on my capstone hub, but I haven't gotten it on all the hubs within it yet.
thanks for all you're doing. I think it looks great and bumps along the way are expected.
so far I put tags on 5 of my France hubs and included the RSS on each of them, plus I included each of my hubtrail hubs in a link capsule. is that what we're supposed to do?
I think this is so exciting. people that never come into the forums want to participate and are including their hubs. it's really wonderful.
I just checked the site Marisa. nice!! you seem to have fixed the bump. it looks great.
all of my hubtrail hubs are there and my views have all increased. nice to see double red arrows.
some very good info on these travel hubs. I'm anxious to write more. I was thinking yesterday we don't want to give the readers too much info so they won't click on the ads! whet their appetite.
Marisa, (Ohma)
Could it be that your external website is experiencing problems be case there are too many hubs using the capstone tag? As I understood the discussion each Capstone Hub was to be an entry portal for a particular location and location associated hubs would be filed under the particular Capstone. For Example:
Hubtrail Capstone-USA
Entry Portal USA (one Hub), then All State Capstone hubs are under heading
Hubstail Capstone –STATE
Entry portal for each state, (one hub each)
Hubtrail- State
All hubs relating to it associated State Capstone
In so, It seems that only the person writing the Capstone (Entry Portal) hub should be using the Capstone tag. Seems that this could be confusing the RSS feeds, probably need some one more tech-savvy than me to solve but I can’t see how this can not be a problem.
Great work however, The external site really looks good.
rte, I thought Ohma said in her hub that the capstone tag was no longer needed. we just need to tag each hub according to continent, country and city/provence, whatever it's called in the county and include the RSS feed.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Hubtrails
Okay, I must have missed that hub, been pretty busy the last couple of days, let me check it out
Update - the RSS feeds are now working, but as I have a limit on how many feeds I can pull, I've had to use the continents. So your hubtrail-continent tag is the only one that matters for my site.
The original idea of Hubtrails, as I understand it, was to have quite a sophisticated hierarchy of Hubs so you could "follow" it around the world. That would imply there would be only one Capstone Hub per state, one per country etc. but I don't think that's realistically going to happen.
Marisa
You are such a gem. I think whatever you do with it is fantastic.
My weebly site currently has 11 feeds 10 country and one general feed but I keep expecting them to tell me I have reached my limit. but learn as I go right.
My problem with the Hubtrail project is that the tagging conventions keep changing, and there's no one reliable spot to get info when it changes.
Are we supposed to keep an eye out in the forums for new threads, or is Ohma's Hub going to have the most accurate info?
Relache I have written a hub that explains the tagging I do apologize for the initial confusion. Things kind of exploded on me and I was just trying to find out if there was any interest in a project like this. I am not complaining and I am glad that so many have joined but it was a whole lot of info from a large number of people flying at me and I did have some trouble getting a handle on things but I think if you have a look at the hub you will find many answers. If not you can always contact me or one of the others.

I have started a new thread for Hubtrails because I wanted to set up the instructions and other information you need in the very first post. Hopefully this will limit the confusion and help us to get better organized.First Important news:Marisa Wright has purchased the Domain...

Okay everyone it is done! I am sorry for the many changes and delays but as many of you know this project was not really a project in the beginning. I was just throwing an idea out there and everyone jumped in which is fantastic but has made for many garbled and confusing instructions and for that...

I am writing a hub on travel in Idaho, but am unsure as how to tie it into the hubtrails program. In particular, the idea of a capstone - one place says use it on the first one I write, another says don't use it, and I can't figure out just what to do. Help here, anyone?
