I noticed an appreciable number of hubbers with 100% hub score, please can you share some of the steps you took to achieve this greatness? Congrats to you all!
Hi Acco how is it hanging well I made 99, I am sure it may have got to 100, I never actually saw it but maybe I was sleeping at the time and missed it, these things are possible. x0x
At the time of writing, mine is 100, but no-one stays there for ever because there's an intentional randomness in the algorithm, to keep the 'charts' interesting.
I don't have 'the' answer, and am not among the financially successful hubbers because for me it's a writing outlet, not a business venture.
So what do I do? Mostly I aim to write original and interesting (to some!) content, typically 1200 to 1500 words per article. I try to write well, because that's the whole point of the exercise. I usually include 2 to 6 photographs, preferably taken myself, but this isn't always possible. I don't use videos at all. They're just not my thing. I'd love to use audio capsules, but Hubpages don't support them (hint!). I'm fairly careful with categories and groups. I try to answer all comments promptly and respectfully as people have taken the trouble to write them.
Apart from hubs, I'm usually involved in one or two forum threads which may or may not be helping too, but it's fun.
Was that any help?
I have no idea how it happens! In one day I can reach 99 or 100 and before the day is over drop to 94, like yesterday! I understand it has to do with how active one is overall - participating in forums, creating new hubs, gaining friends, being friends, commenting, etc. But after that I think they must spin a wheel every hour or something, LOL! Just kidding about the wheel - maybe.
I do all you said Paraglider but only ever go up as far as 99, then I drop. The more I comment, the more I drop
The hubscore is up and down like a whores drawers. Honest. Ignore it. Pay it no mind. Maybe it will sulk and whack you to 100 to grab your attention.
I've had it a few times but I honestly don't know why or how. And I don't bother worrying about it either.
See - like with Cindy - sometimes I'm dead active. It drops. Other times I'm equally as active - it shoots to the top. That's a combination of forum posting, comments and rating, either publishing a new hub or tweeking a published one.
Then - there's the time when I do absolutley bugger all. I wasn't on a couple of weeks ago for over 48 hours. Again, 100.
Hubscore = weird.
NB - I also think the hubteam play hubpoker. And we're the chips ![]()

I've seen my author score hit 100 a few times. The steps aren't anything secret and if you think they are, you're only fooling yourself.
Create Hubs.
Fill them with original, useful and interesting content.
Make sure your tags are really relevant and focused to the topic of the hub. (this often means less tags and not more)
Do a touch of hub promotion to help get traffic.
Don't spend lots of time sweating your Hubscore.
Repeat all those steps. Again and again.
When I hit 100, it's a pleasant surprise, but nothing that's under my control.
I get to 100 quite a lot, then it falls again. 100 yesterday, 95 today. It just happens.
I think there is a significant random element. I drift from around 93 to 100. No disrepect to frogsdropping but if a reptile's waste products can make 100 then it can't be that much of an achievement!

I'm rarely - if ever offended. But that was a tad uncalled for Rik. Do get over yourself.
frogdropping - so sorry I offended you. I forgot for a moment that although your blood may be cold you probably have a warm heart and real feelings. Forgive me for my insensitivity. You are clearly the most successful reptile on HubPages and I for one want to live in a world where frogs have the same opportunities as the rest of us ![]()
Rik - I wasn't offended. Like I said - it seemed a bit below the belt. Thankyou for returning and your apology ![]()
My score was 100 most of the day today, but has fallen to 98 at the time I'm writing this. I used to stay around 95-98, never quite seeing 99 or 100. It's really only been in the last month that I've finally seen 100 for the first time. Now, I see it almost once a day. I still flunctuate like everyone else.
What do I contribute it to? I don't know. I do have 3 times the daily page views now than I did two months ago. But, I attribute that to going from 65 hubs to just over 100 in the hub challenge.
My advice: Write, write, write good original material
Participate in the forums
Leave comments for others
Reply promptly to comments left on your hub
Above all else...have FUN and be NICE!
I've had 100, but as I'm writing this it's down to 95 (kind of my new "low"). I'd say almost the same things KCC said (except that I didn't participate in the Hub challenge). I don't really think I'm doing anything different than I was when I was getting - like - the 91 to 96 range. I've had some time off recently, and I've participated in the forums as a result of it. Hitting the 100 is pretty recent for me, so maybe it's that.

It is so weird I don't understand it either, mine has been dropping and dropping and my last hub was one of my best ones, so I have given up lol

why has no one pointed out that a frog is an amphibian! ...cmon!
My last one was my only hub to hit the 100 and I think it was because of.
1.Topic must be something that helps the reader.
2.Members joining in on the comments with help as well.
3.Deff replying and helping every reply.
4.I also think if the Hub makes money on Adsense then it also climbs in Hubscore, just my theory.
5. I think too much Forum Activity reduces all scores, again just my theory.
6. 15 really good related Tags.
I haven't reached 100 yet but I am at 94 today (my highest so far, yeh for me
) But reading this knowledge exchange, I am running back to my hubs to make some changes...thanks for the ideas.
Tips:
1. Get active, everywhere. In your Hubs, their Hubs, and in the forums.
2. Participate in "Answers"
3. Get good at Search Engine Optimization, I.E., tagging.
4. Go to various places on the 'net, and spread your work. The more click throughs outside of any particular domain, the higher the Hub score.
5. Keep a small number of fans to fans--it's a circle that will increase slowly, but most definitely, especially when you communicate with them.
6. Reply to your replies on Hubs, be it yours or others.
Keep in mind, this is all of my observations--which are admittedly not an authority, but these are things that have kept my score and others high.
