What is it with men and stockings?

Why are men so turned on by stockings? Why not tights? Its a topic that has puzzled me ever since I burnt all the cheap lingerie my boy friend had bought me whilst consuming a bottle of wine (I know I'm bad...).
I've written my first hub about this strange fixation. Any ideas girls? Men - what is it about garter belts and stockings that get your juices flowing? Spill the beans! Please?

The mental picture of a sheep in stockings - that is seriously weird! - I guess they'd need 2 pairs?
