So, you want to know what weight-lifting exercise we like?

I like a nice clean and press cause you can work almost your entire body with one exercise. Pretty sweet.

I like to walk a lot, and bicycle ride in the heat of summer.  In the colder weather, I usually work out in the house, on the Wii or a workout video, but I also like outdoor stuff, like skiing, sledding, and ice skating.

What worked for me was walking everywhere.  I'd walk to the grocery store and carry two bags home, I'd walk, when living in the country, as far from the stores as possible.  I park my car as far from the store as I could and walk through the parking lot.  Power walking is best.  Put some music in my ears and walk to the beat of the music.

walking is great too...I park far away from entrances just to get a walk in and I always use stairs vs. elevators

      I agree 100%.

      Works up a sweat.

You can change up your routine often.

You can work different muscle groups.

      Is awesome for cardio.

      And is awesome fun big_smile

        Don't forget:

you can experiment for the best work out possible
you have an exercise partner(s)  lol
        there's cardio, vascular, emotional, physical...
raises the levels of good hormones
        great for the heart
you don't have to go to the gym, unless you really want to hmm

        1. Kangaroo_Jase profile image74

It is also great exercise for the ....

          lips

          hands

          feet

provides endorphins at the end of a routine, therefore allowing for post exercise relaxation

increases appetite (in more ways than one)

          Increases rest though deeper sleep

you can introduce additional work out 'tools' for enhancing said exercises cool

fosters good bonding and promotes healthy relationships

          big_smile

My favourite exercise is watching people do them on DVD's.

I just sit down, with a coffee and watch them do the exercising and I burn calories just by watching.

Swimming - and after that, swim aerobics.  One hour in the water equals about 2 on land and it doesn't hurt!  Runner up -probably sex - and/or urban mushing depending on the day - or both!

partition deadlift, about 60 sm from the ground. best result  - 420kg (924 lbs) with 87kg of own. started partition as a way to save my back (old low back/hip injury), but got carried away with increasing weights and it gave a new boost to the old problem)))) it`s a 10th week of physio at the moment and hope one day to be back to proper training)))
