What are the PS1 games that you love that others hate?
I'm currently working on a video for the Greasy Gamer YouTube show called "Top 9 Playstation 1 Games I hate (that everybody loves)", and I've been looking around for several titles which I might've played/heard of, but very few have come to mind. I'm wondering what games YOU hate that everyone loves, for some inspiration. And of course, I love interacting with the community of HubPages. Feel free to give 9, less or more! Why 9? Because 10 is overused, and 11 was taken by Thatguywiththeglasses. So, what're the PS1 games you hate, that everybody loves?
I don't really remember ones that I hated, just ones that I loved. I spent tons of time playing all the Spyro and Crash Bandicoot games.
The original Tomb Raider -- Digital boobies do not make up for the bad camera and horrible platform puzzles.
Syphon Filter -- Hey look it's gonna be a few years and another console until you get another Metal Gear, so this is awesome right? Wrong.
Ape Escape -- ...Do I really need to explain this one?
Dino Crisis 2 -- Another game where the camera is bad. Hiding a T-Rex in plain sight? Yeah we can do that.
Brunswick Bowling 2 -- This one's my fault. I let my drunken room mates talk me into this game. They weren't gamers and this game wasn't even fun drunk.
Fear Effect 2 -- I actually liked Fear Effect and I had hope for the sequel. Those commited to the series continued to praise ...I don't jump on band wagons or join cults. The game was bad and made no sense.
Syphon Filter 2 -- Six months from now Metal Gear Solid 2 comes out ...but you trusted us before and time has passed so it HAS to be good right?...no just kidding, it's a money grab! this one is WORSE than the first one.
Only got 7 because there were a ton of good games on PSX.
A very nice list, this'll really help! I was hoping to leave Tomb Raider out as I kinda like it, but I do agree on what you say. The other games, fantastic choices!
We didn't have too many but I liked Die Hard trilogy. Because my kids and I would take turns. They made sure I had the easy levels.
Tomb raider I didn't like. Poor old Lara kept drowning on me and falling off the side of cliffs.
I'm not sure which are the hated PS1 games. I guess Syphon Filter, which I heard a lot of negative reviews for when it first came out.
I didn't like Gran Turismo - not arcadey enough for me, trying to be too realistic. I preferred the feel of the Ridge Racer series, Type 4 being my favourite.
I never liked Final Fantasy first time around, and have only got into RPG titles later in life, and I now love them.
There's another hub for you - retro games that seem better now than when they were released! Like fine wines, maturing with age. You could list cult titles like Shadow of the Colossus, Psychonauts and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
I have to agree, those're some good choices there. However I really like the FF series, though I might consider some. As for Ridge Racer, that's definitely one of my faves of all time ^^
One game I loved that got poor reviews was 'Flintstone Bedrock Bowling' where you rode around in giant bowling balls knocking down pins'. I think I loved it so much simply because it was The Flintstones. I also loved '102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue', 'A Bug's Life', and 'Hugo', but I don't know what reception was like for them.
I always found 'Final Fantasy', 'Grand Turismo', and 'Tomb Raider' boring.

What games do you like that others hate?Be it cult classics or just quirky games that you have to admire, I'm sure there's one game out there you love but most others hate it to no end. I'm not just talking about games critics didn't like but fans of previous instalments of a series or those who...

What catch phrases do you hate or love?I like the positive message, but "It's all good," really bugs me for some reason! On the other hand (another catch phrase...) I don't hate, "C'est la vie..."Anyone else?
