What are your personal beliefs on abortion?

Not the political side of whether it should or should not be legal, but how do you feel about it on a personal level? If you or your partner were faced with an unexpected pregnancy how would you feel about terminating? At what point do you believe that a pregnancy is a baby? Has a soul? Do you believe you would have guilt feelings later? Long term psychological issues? Is it okay in some instances, but not in others? Okay for some, but not for you? Reasons supporting your beliefs, religious/spiritual, research/science, influenced by family or friends?

I personally believe that abortion is wrong.  Even if someone has an unplanned pregnancy, there are still so many families out there who want to have kids, so why not choose adoption as your option?  I only have one child, so I've been through the whole pregnancy thing.  She was a surprise, but after the shock of "Oh My God, I'm Pregnant!" I then realized that I had a littler person in me and I was going to take care of her the rest of her life.  I believe that as soon as the seed is planted, that precious baby is a real person, not just a "object."

Why abort when there are lots of precautions. Abortion is murder. You can avoid pregnancy with many kinds of contraceptives, you can also try emergency pills in case of unprotected sex. pregnancy is easier to avoid, you don't have to wait until a small heart begins to beat. I can't say what a woman feels after abortion but it is unethical and morally wrong.

Unless there a circumstances in which both lives are in danger if an abortion is not done, there are other ways to deal with an unplanned pregnancy. Babies tend to be adopted very quickly and in most cases the adoptive parents pick up some of the medical bills. I believe a baby has a soul soon after conception, and that there can be a lot of pain and suffering on both parts from abortion. Either with abortion or adoption I could see cases of guilt or regret, but I would personally prefer to know that my baby is safe in the arms of someone in a better situation to handle them than myself, then wonder when a baby becomes a baby and if they felt and pain or fear from the abortion.

Abortion is murder ..to abort a baby is to kill ....to kill is murder...
A baby is a baby as soon as conception takes place

A person I know took her daughter to hospital for an abortion ,my daughter was horrified but logically commented, ''Well mum I suppose its not every day you get to kill your own grandchild '' .

There is absolutely no excuse for an unwanted pregnancy ,(except in the case of  rape )

Personally, I do not think I could ever consider an abortion. I think that from conception there is a baby and a soul so I know that having one would cause me a lot of mental turmoil.By doing that I would be harming my own emotional state perhaps irreparably. The foundation of my beliefs concerning abortion come from the Bible and since it is written that the Lord knows us before He forms us in the womb. I know that in some instances people think that it is understandable as in the case of rape or when the life of the mother is in danger, but for me, I still do not think that I could look at myself in the mirror if I did choose it. In the case of rape I would feel as though I am punishing an innocent for a crime that they did not commit. In the case of my life for theirs, I would not blink because that is what parents do isn't it? Sacrifice their life for their child's? What is so different about dying for a child who is a in the womb than for one who is out of the womb? Isn't the one in the womb even more defenseless?

Depends on the situation if you have mulitple abortions because you were irreasponsable then thats wrong but if you were raped or the baby was at risk then its ethical. I wasnt always pro choice i use to be aginst it but when something happened to me i changed my mind its what ever you think is right what ever you can handle i dont beleave in killing a baby because of ones own mistake but sometimes its in the babys best interst im sorry if this makes you angery but its my opion and you asked

my wife and i just found out earlier this week she is pregnant. we weren't planning on having any more kids but were still happy about it. as for abortions, i have no problem with them as long as they aren't used as a form of birth control. circumstances can cause the need for an abortion whether others agree or not. it's her body and she has every right to do as she feels right with it.

Abortion is a very difficult subject and requires a lot of introspection and honesty with oneself to make the right decision.  I am adamantly Pro-Choice and feel that all women deserve to have safe, and affordable access to abortion services.  I had an abortion when I was 33 and I can honestly say I do not regret my decision, and I am now 40.  I do not want children and my husband and I made the difficult decision together and with the advice of my personal doctor.  I was not emotionally, physically, or psychologically prepared to take care of a child even though I was and still am happily married.  I wish that decisions I had made had been better and I had not gotten into the unfortunate situation of having to make that decision.  I was lucky that my husband, parents, sister and friends were all supportive of my decision.

My lover and I have already talked about this subject, and if it happened to us, then we would have to deal with the consequences, it's not like we would look at the baby as a mistake, but since we don't always use protection we cannot take a baby's life because of our mistakes. Although, I do believe there are exceptions to this matter. If a woman was raped, you cannot look down upon her because she doesn't want to keep the baby, and if a girl is 15 years old, you cannot expect her to keep it either. There are also medical issues like where the mother and child are at risk of death or serious defects if the woman goes through with the pregnancy. Some think that no matter what you should go through with it, but a lot of people don't realize the reality of what comes with it. Let's say about $20,000 in hospital bills! Some people cannot afford that, so before telling someone that doesn't have insurance and is barely making their bills, remember that our country is the place to make having a baby that much money! It shouldn't be that much, ever.

I would say that people shouldn't judge anyone for their actions, as you don't have the right to. Although it can piss you off a bit! I work with a 24 year old girl, she tells more than she ever should, as she told co-workers she got an abortion a few weeks ago. This girl has about 3-4 classes left in college until she recieves her bachelor's degree, she has been with the same guy for 5 years, and has parents that basically take care of everything (as she only works here about 2-3 days a week). Now it really pissed me off because obviously she isn't using the proper protection, and what got me more was her reasoning for getting the abortion (which she didn't even tell her parents, either). She says she doesn't know if she ever wants kids. So why are you letting yourself get pregnant? Now adays, with as many precautions out there as there is, it's pretty damn hard to get pregnant when you don't want to. So then why would you kill your child? Who knows. I guess people have their own views on the matter, like it's nothing to kill your child just because you havent seen him/her yet. I know quite a few people that regret their abortions, so I only hope that it's on her concious for the rest of her life, also.

I believe that if you had sex then you know the consequences and you should not take a life because you messed up. Even if you can't take care of the kid then there are thousands of people out there who can't have a kid that long for one. Just remember that even at that early stage of development the fetus can still feel the pain of that doctor going in and stabbing it in the brain, because the brain (along with nervous system) is the first to develop. The only time i would feel different is if the person was raped which even as traumatizing as that can be i still would say that they should have it and give it to an infertile adoptive couple.

A human being comes into existence at the moment of fertilization. This is an embryological fact. To kill an innocent human being, born or unborn, is murder. All murder should be against the law. There is no circumstance in which abortion is justified, even in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the mother is in danger. The unborn doesn't cease to be a human being if it was conceived in rape, incest, or if its mother is experiencing a medical issue. If a woman is pregnant, every effort must be made to give her the medical care necessary to ensure that both she and her unborn child survive and thrive. Abortion shouldn't be an "either or" situation. We must use the medical expertise at our disposal to care for both mother or child. Neither one is disposable.

personally, based on my SPIRITUAL belief.." I AM AGAINST ABORTION"..I AM PRO GOD..so, means  I AM A PRO LIFE..we got a "DIVINE LAW" ' LAW OF GOD" and "CIVIL LAW"..GOV'T IMPOSE LAW..even do abortion is politically legal in some country..in "GOD'S DIVINE LAW" it is consider as " MORTAL SIN" period!!!..

    analogy of this..
when we plant a tree!!..it is not a tree in AN instant
rather before a tree become a tree, it will undergo to such  vicious cycle and process
first plant a seed..that seed will root up
and as years goes by..it will become a tree..

i stablished this as an instance since
other says that they can still abort their baby if still a "blood"???
cos it is not a fetus..yet..
they reason it out like that..
but how  it will become a fetus when you already eradicate the blood which will form into a fetus and after 9mnts =" a baby"..right???

as far as i know those who gone trough abortion
they are hunted forever with their concience
and their life becomes miserable after that
    and "KARMA HIT THEM BACK"

THE TIME THAT THEY LIKE TO HAVE A BABY ALREADY

GUESS WHAT??..they can't have it anymore!!!
the babies your so called "UN PLANNED OR JUST BY ACCIDENT"'
guess what??..if you don;t choice to have them
they don't choice to be have by people like you too!!!

there are so many people who wants to have babies in any means or way
and will do whatever it takes to have one
and there are many who are like a killing baby machine
    so sad..sad

    Conception begins at life.
I'd only say yes if the mothers health was in danger.
There's so many gray areas such as rape and incest.
It's the rape issue which gets me.
The baby is innocent but conceived in such a violent way.
The only thing a mom could do is give it up for adoption if she was brave enough to do that,
So many kids are waiting to be adopted.
    But that's a tough situation,
If the mother dies while the baby is in utero
then the baby and mom dies
