Where can I repost my old Helium articles to generate some extra income?
I know a lot of hubbers write at Helium too. As many of you know Helium says you retain copyright of your articles but won't let you delete them, so the only thing you can do with them is repost them somewhere that allows duplicate content. I've started uploading mine to Constant Content for sale of usage rights. Any other ideas?
Good luck - Google hates duplicate content, so most writing sites out there do too. Best you can do is start your own site. But remember that the helium articles will probably outrank you anyway!
I actually have a possible way around the ownership thing. (I don't use Helium myself, so I don't know if this would work). Is it possible to edit your articles? If so, copy all your articles to a word document or wherever, then go to Helium and "ruin" them. Just turn them into nonsensical gibberish. Then you can delete your account and post your articles wherever you like.
Unfortunately Helium has a way to stop you doing this. Every time you edit an article it goes through a 'leapfrog' process (don't ask!) whereby it has to be approved as an improvement on the original article. they really have it all nailed down!
Argh, that's a pain. Can you email Helium and ask to have them deleted? If not, all I can suggest is reusing the articles but building on them. Change the wording, reorder stuff, change the title, add text, pictures etc. Basically just rewrite them.
Try this Do a leapfrog and insert "Delete this article" You have to have enough sentences to make the word limit. This may work since I am considering soing that as well for a couple of articles.
I think the best thing to do is expand all of your articles and repost them on your own website. No sense in letting all that prior research go to waste. If your edited articles are longer (with added info, not just filler words) and include more media than the originals, you can probably outrank the Helium articles over time. And you can continue to sell usage rights on CC for the originals.

Recently Helium.com has been pushing the idea that writers can "make a quick killing by re-purposing" their articles on Helium (they've started paying up to $2 upfront for articles which is where the 'quick killing' bit comes from - however before you get excited, you need to be a 3-star...

When I joined HubPages, I saw it as a great opportunity to...
