Diet control is very important for avoiding diabetes. We need to take amount of food that actually required by our body. It is desirable to add wheat, maize with rice in our food habit. Taking adequate quantity of vegetables, particulary fiber rich, will be very helpful to avoid diabetes. Taking too much sweets should be avoided. We need to walk daily for at least 30 minutes as walking is the best exercise for everybody. Early morning walking is preferrable. Doing other exercises and yogas are also responsible for avoiding diabetes.

OK sugar does NOT cause diabetes.Diabetes is caused by poor diet, fast foods, processed foods, like white sugar and white flour,eating more than you need to eat which causes obesity and obesity is one major factor and lack of adequate excercise is another. Your Genes play a major role too when it comes to whether you will develope the condition.

Carbohydrates, which are starchy foods like potatos, rice, cereals,pasta, or fruit and other sweets and milk products,all convert to glucose(suager) when digested So although our bodies need the carbohydrates eating larger portions sizes that we need can over load our systems with glucose.

A very simple step towards avoiding diabetes is by eliminating caffeine from your diet. Medical research has shown that caffeine decreases insulin sensitivity by around 15% in people without diabetes. The researchers estimated that the decreased insulin sensitivity caused by the caffeine matched the increase in insulin sensitivity from taking insulin-sensitising drugs like metformin. Therefore people who are on these medications might not need it if they eliminated caffeine from their diet.

Any one who is overweight or has a family member with diabetes needs to take some action.

Caffeine is predominately found in: coffee, tea, coke and energy drinks etc. chocolate and chocolate ice cream. Follow a low GI or GL diet.

I believe that you are either born with it or you get diabetes later in life.

For the people born with diabetes there is really no way to avoid it. But, for the people who are not born with diabetes I am under the impression that poor diet, especially a high sugar diet, leads to diabetes. I find the fact that more children are being diagnosed with adult on set diabetes disturbing….it means to me that this kid has been allowed to eat soo much sugar already that its body chemistry is already messed up. Very sad.

For people who have diabetes it is very important to keep a strict diet and work out! Working out doesn’t mean lifting more food to your mouth either!

Change your lifestyle from the ground up. Change what you eat and exercise more, walking is the best. Eat less sticky carbs like breads and pastas and eat more fiberous carbs like veggies with a protein.

It all depends on which type you have. It is not good say it is only people with bad diet and dont exercise yes they maybe more likely to get type 2. Where mean that have type 1 it just runs in the family I got type 1 while in the army running everyday eating health meals so in no way was it my own fault. Also what about the mothers that get diabeties while pregnant where the way for then to not have developed it would have been to avoid getting pregnant ;)

Yes, here are some simple ways to allow you to avoid or delay this disease.

1. Eat healthy and wisely.

2.Limit your meat, poultry, and fish intake to no more than three ounces a day.

3.Skip desserts and refined sugars.

4.Use low-salt broth instead of oil and butter.

5.Drinking a full glass of water before eating will also help reduce your appetite.

6.If you are eating at a fast-food restaurant, choose the healthier foods, such as grilled chicken, salads and fruits.

7.Increase your exercise.
