   Are the women of today becoming too westernized and is it good?
   
   The world seemed to have become too westernized and it is doing havoc in Asian countries which are still traditional and conservative.

   Equality is not a bad thing in my opinion and I can't see that many in the western world will think in any other way.

   I think this fever is everywhere. So, Asian women who are known to be very conservative are also stepping up.

   New generation changes. The place where i have grown up and my parents are conservative.
   
   My immigration in Europe has influence my life standard, principles, ideas, development. One has to adjust and be tolerant.
   
   I cannot brought up my children the way my parents did. But i still treasure some traditional and conservative ways i learned and practiced them in my family and my children.
   
   In Asia, the new generations are adopting the western mentality but it really depends on how their parents brought them up for them to continually conserve their own tradition and some conservative characteristics that would help young generations to decide on what kind of life they want to have,

   actually it is good.
   nowadays women work outside and they can feel independent
   westernized in a sense like you are pushing yourself into an wider area where you can compete with others a woman can manage a house as well as her job, not in a sense like going out with boyfriends and having parties.
   to make herself establish is a good thing

   Depends on your definition of westernized. There are pros and cons of adapting to another culture. Maybe the younger generation which obviously includes women is getting westernized because they yearn for something more that they don't currently have like - equality, independence, non-judgmental opportunities, etc. If people want to be traditional and conservative, they are free to do so. But if a "woman" wants to adapt, she should be free to do so, without being generalized and stereotyped. She should not be pushed into something she does not prefer in the name of tradition or conservatism.

   In a "free society" people have a right to choose how they want to live. When women are allowed to see how other women around the world live they realize they have "options". Since "life is a personal journey" who are we to tell another person which culture they should hold onto. Generally speaking it is the men who become upset when their women want to abandon traditions. Freedom is and always has been about personal choice.

   This is actually not true, to say the world has westernize, is like me saying the west have easternize, because the west believe rape is wrong and that come belive come into existence in the west, due to eastern influence.  Scholar who study cultures, distinct culture into two category, modern culture and traditional culture, traditional culture, refer to culture that insist a certain believe and doing things a certain way, with no regards to the world around them or reality.  Modern culture, on the other hand, does not insist on the believe pass down to them via their ancenstor and critically analysis and question their culture's existing believe base on facts and figures and their culture also change with the world around them.  As a result, while traditional culture country each have a distinct favor of their own, modern culture nations, generally have many similar believes.  While, most western culture country use to be traditonal culture nation, within the past two hundred years, we see a dramatic shift to modern culture amount them, as a result, today many people mistaken none western modern culture nation to have westernize, due to the fact they believe in the same thing as modern western country, it is actually not true, but it is just conicdent they believe in the same thing.  Some culture have acutually believe in these ideology for much longer then the west.  For example, the rule of engagement in the western world today, can be found within the middle east, since the middle ages.  Lybia in prior to colonel Gadafies' dictatorship, is the oldest and longest living democratic nation in the world, where throughout their history their King has always been elected.  China believe the nation is rightfuly the property of the people and the King must work in public interest, as a result, since day one of its history, while up until a few hundred years ago, the west still believe in "King is god's given right." and "divine right of the king"  Japan, is the first nation in the world, that introduce conposery education system and create law saying all woman must finish high school, since the early 19th century and their woman have been going to university even before that and woman play important role in japanese work force, where in the west, woman weren't allow to go to university until mid 19th century and even then there was very few woman in the work force, until mid 20th century.  In east Asian culture, adopting your husband after marriage, is not a commonly practice custom and very few woman take their husband's last name after marriage, where in the west, it is commonly practice custom and not taking your husband last name is frown upon even today.  Also in east Asia, there was never such thing call a woman get pay less for the same job simply because they are woman, where in the West, it was an issue that exist until 20 years ago.  Of course, we can not denire the west's contribution to the world, including spreading democratic government structure to the world and its technological contribution to modern world, as a result of industry revolution, but if you look at history, there are just as much none western contribution to the world (including the west), as the opposite way around

   They say that although we progressed enormously in technology in the last two centuries our social values and interactions are not progressing equally with it...until we stop looking what divide us and start looking what is there we have in common we will never really progress...
   Men and women are different and yet there are the two sides of one coin and they should be treated as such...The best way to honour your traditions and your cultural beliefs is to value and cherish the parts of it that helps you to move forward, to learn and grow to be a better human being...the other parts is better to honour but leave where they belong..to the past...
