Are you a believer or you need" to see" and then believe?
The whole exercise of faith is to believe in the unknown and the unseen.
That depends upon the subject that is to be believed in....
When it came to women I was a skeptic... But when it came to my wife... I was a believer before I could be a skeptic... I had a promise from the Lord already and was waiting for it to be fulfilled... she was that answer and I knew it before I ever saw her face or photo. We have now been married 12 years and have two kids... as they say.. "The proof is in the puddin."
In Religion I first believed by accepting the teaching as a child... But after falling away from the church for many years I was a very mixed up person who had to make sense of what to believe... Because of this I spent years of "Testing God" and eventually proved him through the Evidences of Faith.
(Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.)
He always Rebukes Sin and has Mercy upon us when we Confess and forsake the sins... He is testable... if a person has the patience and truly desires to know him... He will reveal himself to you.
I agree with MrMaranatha's first statement "That depends upon the subject that is to be believed in." I am a believer in or of many things until evidence shows me otherwise. Then the question becomes am I willing to change my belief(s).
If we are talking about a man made story, one in which my heart feels nothing for, I need proof. If it has to do with God, No, I don't need proof. He's real and He has already proven it to me in my life, and I am very blessed for it.
I was lucky.
Ive seen my guardian angel as a child and it is easy for me to believe.
I see miracles on a daily basis.
I believe I am to gullable for my own being. I sware you could tell me that pigs fly, I would believe you.
I need to see and then believe. But some things doesn't need to be seen for believing.
A person would believe in a theory based on his Knowledge.
If your knowledge is feeble, then your belief will be weak.
Faith is the bit that makes me believe, it is the assured expectation of what you hope for, a pin prick in size is all you need.
I am knowing and walking with GOD moment by moment because I have freely chosen to fulfill and complete GOD'S will and ultimate purpose for my life on the earth. I 100 percent sold out and sought this to do GOD'S will and GOD on August 1, 1982 A.D. a Sunday morning shown me in a vision the other side of death. " Seek ye first the kingdom of GOD and all these things shall be added unto you." My life is one of knowing and walking with GOD moment by moment ever since August 1, 1982 A.D. a Sunday morning when GOD shown me in a vision the other side of death. GOD have given me a sneak preview of what is waiting for me on the other side of death.
Depending on what things as some I will simply believe its existence while others need to see before believing.
God's existence does not require proof as in all our hearts, we all believe in Him.
I'm a believer there are just some things that you don't need to see such as love.
A person who believes that Elvis is still alive is very unlikely to get promoted to a position of great power and responsibility in our society. Neither will a person who believes that the holocaust was a hoax. But people who believe equally irrational things about God and the bible are now running our country. This is genuinely terrifying.
In regards to God, I am a believer. There is external evidence God exists, but I did not go searching for it before I became a believer.
It is an old saying that "seeing is believing". I am the one who just thinks seeing.
even if a god walked up to me right now and did something that proved it was a god, i still wouldn't believe as a religious person. i'm pretty sure i would spit on it and tell it to get lost. if there is a god, it's one sick cookie. what bothers me the most about religion is faith. folks worship something that they have never seen in any way and no matter what happens they use this faith to justify things. it's mental illness at it's finest.

A fine fellow posed a very interesting discussion today. You should visit his pages at http://zelkiiro.hubpages.com/ But I speak to something that came up there. Should religion interfere with straightforward empirical science and the logic and actions dictated therein. In my studies I read...

If God is like a light switch in a dark room, why is it so hard to show it to a non-believer?This appeared in a forum post recently:"They are led to stand before the doorstep of a dark room ~ and encouraged to discover if there is any light-switch ('God') inside it. The only way to find out ~...

So here's an interesting question, whether you believe in God or not: How big of a deal is it if you're wrong?Atheist: If you believed there was no God and then you died and met him, how big of a deal do you think that would be? What would you have missed in your life or what would you stand to...

OMG! (the "G" stands for Gawd, not God) - what is with these athiests?I am not a youngster. And I am not a believer. But I am envious of the serenity true believers appear to find in their life.Now... don't try to proselytize to me, and don't try to prove your faith is the only truth. It...

Why can't atheists and believers leave each other alone to not believe or believe? Why is it that atheists (not all, some) continuously question believers about their belief and vice versa; why do believers (not all, some) feel they have to justify their belief? Surely if you don't believe in God...

I feel that believing in one religion is not practical. Likewise, there is no way of knowing if there is one God, or any God for that matter. I'm not saying there's not either, though I do trust science it only goes so far... Some things will always be left unexplained. The bottom line is that with...
