Not in my opinion he wasn't. He managed to con a lot of people into believing he was, though.
He was a genius at self-promotion. That was a superb achievement, given that he was utterly lacking any artistic talent.
(should have previewed this title for spelling).
During interviews he seemed somewhat dull. Must have been an iceberg, most of him staying submerged.
