   How many views do you need to make $1.66 a day?
   
   Ok to make a $50 payout minimum each month you need to make an average of $1.66 a day. If you work on each month having 30 days. So I am just wondering what the average number of veiws would be to make that $1.66, or as close as? Assuming you don't make any money from ebay, amazon, etc.

   This is going to vary for each person... but if you look into your statistics you should  be able to find your CPM rate and this will tell you (roughly/on average) how much you are making per 1,000 views which should in turn let you calculate how many views you needed.  Not sure if I explained that the best...

      Thanks for explaining CPM a little, I was just wondering what the average might be, mine goes up and down a lot but I thought maybe there was an average people could base it on.

   ElleBee is correct.  Your daily (and eventually monthly) payout depends not only on your number of views, but also on your rate of ad revenue (CPM rate).  Both vary day to day.  I have had days with high views (for me) but a low CPM rate which has resulted in little revenue.  Other days, low views, but a high CPM rate have resulted in relatively high revenues (for me).
   For Nov. and so far for Dec. my CPM averages about $6.00 for the month.  To make $50 per month (based on a 30 day month) I would need about 8,333 views per month (which would mean about 278 views per day).  Since Saturdays and holidays are my worst view days, I would think that if I had 300 views most of the other days, I would easily make $50 per month.
   To put this into reality, December will be the first month I have earned $10 and I am ecstatic about it.

      Ok so I found my monthly average last month was around $4.70. So I would need around 10,638 views, around 354 a day. Hmmm, the few days before xmas my views shot up to 1,200 each day. I'm just short of $40 for the month, seems achievable! Thanks

      gosh (sorry-I am just a 'newby')-Thats amazing number of views etc needed for so little return...surely most people that stay with hubpages must be doing so for the community aspect to it-even the critics??..

   Hi Chantele:
      I thought I weigh in here. I have a lot of questions myself and I am finding it hard to get a lot of input on this.  My page views for December 2012 worked out to 3891.(to the Dec 30th).  My income worked out to $11.90.  So my number of page views to make $50 would work out to around 16000 a month.
      I have been a member for 8 months but only started publishing at the beginning of November 2012.  I wanted to do more than wait for Google views so I started to develop a twitter following (https://twitter.com/jan_maklak) with 11,000 followers and a Facebook following  with about 425 followers.  (https://www.facebook.com/JanMaklakPhotography).  I started tweeting a link to a hub every 1/2 hour with an automated service and tweet personally whenever I can.  I post a link to every hub on my Facebook page.  Otherwise letting Google do the work would be a dismal number of views in comparison. 
      I also put several ads on each hub and some of the items are exotic such as a high end watch or camera to attract people to click.  I don't know if the number or type of ad makes a difference but when I started doing it my income went from around $0.20 to $0.50 per day. 
      Looking at my hub views my photography related posts get way more views than my social media posts.  Therefore I'll be concentrating on those posts to get to my goals (like you I'm shooting for $50.00 a month).
      The one problem I have is staying focused and motivated on writing.  Some of the things I want to write on seem to have been beaten to death and I'm reluctant to write one more post on the subject.  Some of the topics that are technical in nature are hard to write about and take a lot of time to research,
      Finally overall revenue per view seems to be working out to around $0028 (based on averages)
   
   I hope my words have provided you with the answer from my perspective.  It seems whenever I ask a question here I have more questions at the end so that is why I gave you my whole story.  Let me know if you do any of the things I mentioned here and if it made a difference for you too.

      I've noticed that you have ads on your hubs that don't feature the 'Ads by Google' text. They aren't ebay or amazon ads either. I'm just wondering how you manage to include those ads in your hubs.

      Hi Daisy, Consider joining Google's program directly. While it's often only a trickle, every so often there is a high pay per click and 2 or more dollars get added to your account on a single click through.

      @JanMakiak 1000 articles! Wow that's a hell of a lot, but I suppose it's something to aim for. I'm making around $20 off 104 so logically 1000 would be around $200 a month.

   well that depends on the keywords that are in your hub. The keywords and the topic of your hub determine which adverts will be served with your hubs. So if you hubs are on topics that pay well you will make $1.66 very quickly. If your hubs are on topics that not the highest paying keywords then it will many more views to for you to earn your target amount. There are some keywords and some topics that will pay $1.66 for just one view....

   I get about 10,000-15,000 per month to get a payout but my best month was only$68 and the CPM rate does make a big difference, mines much higher from fall to early spring.

   Thanks for asking this question. This is very informative. How I wish that I was making $1.66/day! I have been a member for a year, but only really started submitting article around Octoberish of last year. I don't post consistently and only have a dozen hubs at this point. My total views are less than 800, with about half of them coming from my most popular article. Long story short, I have less than 2 bucks accumulated. However, since posting more in the last month or so, I do see a change in my earnings. I think that if I posted another 10-20 hubs along the same vein of my more successful hubs that I could start to earn at least motivational amounts each day. I just can't find the time to write and when I do, I often struggle with what I should write about. Anyway....from all the posts I see that I need at least 100 hubs to even begin to consider doing this as a part-time "job" (but I will probably realistically need 2-3 times that because of the value of the keywords in my articles). Thanks so much for all of this valuable information!  Greatly appreciated!

    The rule of thumb, all other things equal, is about $1 per 350 views. Like Jan, I find my rate is about $1 per 320 views, but more promotion and correct selection of topics and ads would certainly improve that.

    Not sure if it helps but six weeks into Hubpages 13 hubs and one week into Adsense I have now earned the sum of $0.64 for the week. Total views of 1001 for that period.  Think I would be delighted to earn $1.66 though I see you have written a staggering amount of hubs!

    Sorry ,I am still not good enough to be earning yet! So I cannot answer your question . However a conclusion I am coming to is that it's important people are made aware of the fact that, coming to hub-pages is really no way a business venture-,  but just a an article/story/comment/forum( community )really. And according to old disallusioned hubbers the rewards are continually shrinking. So I think eventually HP will become virtually-a non earner.Without much help from Google..
    But on the positive side it seems a great Article/forum community. So the bottom line is as I see it is that for all you creative hardworking souls out there  who want to get just rewards for your good efforts ,you wld get much higher earnings on other sites..

    As someone used to being reasonably rewarded before I retired, after reading all these replies I can't help thinking that you'd get a higher income from sweated labour, sewing garments in Asia or selling vegetables in the Horn of Africa!  It's not exactly uplifting, is it?
