I was racially abused by a colleague. Se used to mock me and yell on front of everyone that how I wasn't American. I asked my boss if she could speak to her about it. I stated that I didn't want her disciplined, just talked to. I had been promoted twice in a year. After that, she was my boss within 3 weeks. I was treated so bad that I just left. She has since been promoted to a higher management position. Forgive and forget! I realized I should not be working for a public entity who promotes people who 1. Encourage bankruptcy in personal life even though they work with the public finances. 2. Are bigots.

Well, that's it--the end of the year, and still I fall ten bucks short of making payout threshold for the month!

Damn!  I hate that!  I've done everything I can according to all the tricks, rules and blah, blah, blah to get more traffic...and still, it's always a near miss....

I've been exceedingly productive. I've driven my son and daughter all over town (each has a special New Years celebration they have to get to) Walked the dog, drunk 4 bottles of organic beer and contemplating a fifth. Will have to go to bed soon, taking my mum for a Chinese meal tomorrow. She's 83 and believe me when I tell you, she has sooo much energy. Last New Years Day, she made me walk around China Town, in the freezing cold and after our meal, for three hours! Why? Because there was a special Buddah which she simply HAD to have! We didn't find him. I was knackered by the time I'd got home.

    Happy New Years, PDS. smile

I am in a quite ebullient mood.  No sadness, have much to do and look forward to.  I am lucky to be alive and of good health.   As I speak, I am dancing to KOOL AND THE GAND and EARTH,WIND, AND FIRE.   Happy New Year to all in this post and to all in the HubPages Community.   Upwards to you all and may all of you accomplish many wonderful goals!

RE: Bacon:  Nuke it between paper towels for just a minute and a half.  No spatter; no mess!  Comes out nice and crisp, too.  (Less time if you don't want it crisp.)

Can't get my five favorite numbers feature or use my rewards for a free phone from my cell phone provider! When I try to contact they give me the number of tech department, to call I have to be near a land phone, AND my computer (impossible). I'm soo pissed. Lost my phone a while back, went to use my rewards (after 6 years) to purchase a new one Nada. Soo frustrating!

My least favorite phrase of all time: "You're/I'm lucky to have a job." Because of this mentality, people are forced to be slaves, abused, for low-pay; because someone is so dim-witted that they prefer arsenic over cyanide. I wanted to use some choice words here, but I think it's against TOS.

I hate that phrase also.    It means that we should be grateful for crumbs.   Well, no thank you.

I can't say this like I mean it because I'm still a bit leery about typing this out loud in this community.

Given that I'm going to qualify the hell out of what I will eventually get around to saying.

    A.  I do not remotely think or believe that I am the bestest writer here or anywhere else for that matter.
    B.  I generally love this community.  I've written elsewhere and this is the only community that I have ever participated in beyond just writing articles.  People have been supportive and welcoming to me here and I truly, honestly appreciate it.   The long timers have been especially kind to me, treating me with respect even when I ask crazy questions.

That being said, I am wondering about something.  Maybe I'm just paranoid and I am not actively averring anything but I think I notice something odd with my hubs.

Whenever I publish a hub I notice that my numbers go down instead of up.  It seems to me that before the hubs are approved and/or featured, the primary readers are other hubbers.

However, after the hub is approved I begin listing it on social bookmarking sites.  When I do this, my traffic increases and I am fairly certain the traffic is coming from outside viewers.

At this point, my numbers go up.

Soooo....are other hubbers known for being extremely critical and are casual viewers just far more lenient?  Do hubbers vote down articles on subjects they just don't like or think are just nonsense?

Are the outside viewers more likely to enjoy articles because they are specifically looking for information on a specific topic?

Or... do others sometimes vote articles down for not so noble reasons?

    Traffic not acceptable! Period!

  16. jacharless profile image72
    jacharlessposted 12 years ago

Okay, so it is no secret, I was a tad distraught at losing AdSense, etc from HP, to which disqualified me from Yield Build premium ads. Traffic issues, yes. Blocked links, yes. Yada-yada. But, I used that ruffling of my feathers to jump from the nest and fly. Thus, have launched Authora.me. I still enjoy HP and all its quirks -especially the folks I have come to publicly and privately earn the friendship of -and will most definitely be around to harass the living daylights of!
And that's all I have to say about that... big_smile

How does one feed back? Is there a troubleshooter or guide? I've already got errors in my text capsule, no idea how to fix. Is there a preview option?  How do I know if I have the minimum of 500 words? Do I have to count each word.? Is there a better place than here to ask questions about Authora? I wonder if I was the first to sign up? Very cool btw. Sorry to be a pest.

Not at all. I would recommend first checking your Account Inbox, else directly emailing. The Aperture is under development, where most Q/A will be posted for the site.   I prefer not to add too much here, for professionalism sake.
