That hasn't happened in a loooooooong time...
Just thought I'd start a thread about referrals. See if anyone is interested in the subject.
I have an amazing 20 sign-ups. But, unfortunately, most of them ended up not writing a single hub.
Awesome.
I still don't even know how the referrals work. I read the info, but am still confused.
Basically, if you entice someone to the website, HP will be nice to you.
I'm having a hard time getting referrals. I even know someone who would be great on here but he still hasn't signed up or at least not unday me.
Repeatedly poke with stick until compliance.
Nice one paradigm. I only recently looked into and added referral trackers to some of my hubs and links.I'd be interested to know how many sign ups/per traffic views people have experienced.
It's not long since i added them but i've had a couple of thousand traffic views through referral trackers since then but have yet to get a single sign up
Just not sure if that's dismal or the norm.Perhaps those who've been using them for a long time might shed some light.
I have 13 signups but none have written any hubs yet,
Mine are also a total bunch of deadbeats.
Yep getting the sign ups is only step one but how many traffic views did you average per sign up.Have you been using the referral trackers for long?
Years.
It's so infrequent, all I can say is that it is probably somewhere between 10K and 100K. Not much help, I know. I view the whole tracker thing as something to not waste too much effort or expectations on. In other words, I'll plant my tracker and then I'll just forget about it. Whatever happens, happens.
For newbies wandering by this thread, here's what I think is the best HP info on the subject. There's other stuff, but this one seems the most informative to me.

Nothing like a dose of reality to temper expectation. I think you're right, it's no trouble to add them and maybe one day you'll get lucky and a future prolific hubber may sign up under you and if not, no great hassle.I know of one hubber who had a sign up that's had more than 1 million views so it can happen.Any of your guys publish any hubs?
That link ain't working for me btw.
Me neither. Let me go see where I messed up.
Most likely it was in including a period at the end of the link. Delete the period or put a space before it, or change the position of the HTML brackets.
You are right! A pesky period! I fixed it. Works now. You are a keeper.
I guess I really am dis-coordinated today. A cup of coffee is in my immediate future...
One cuppa joe, coming right up.
I've had the same problem and have seen it numerous times. Eventually I caught on.
Awww, thanks!!
Wow! That info and link is totally gone! Either something is afoot, or I'm dis-coordinated as to finding things today. I'm going back to the other post and deleting the link.
As for frequency of sign ups, the phrase "blue moon" comes to mind... Leastwise for me.
That's a pity but somewhat reassuring (in that it's not just me) nonetheless.
Yep, all of 3 total. And all 3 have gone to the land of noindex. Never to be seen again. Tough town, the internet.
Amazing! Another 2 sign-ups for a total of 4 this month. A new, personal best.
Are you doing something new or is it just coincidence?
I had a major traffic bump that came and went due to a viral hub. Fun while it lasted!
Thanks for the quick answer! So the trick is to go viral, eh? If only it were that easy
I literally only just worked out referrals 3 weeks ago, and have had 2 people who read my blog sign up, sadly neither has written a single hub yet. I didn't actively promote hubpages to my readers I simply linked in my hubs on one of my posts and amazingly they signed up from that. May have to try pushing sign ups a little but more next time! Well done paradigmsearch!

I have at least 5 referral trackers for those who wish to sign up.I have a total of 25 sign ups. This is good. However, those who have signed up are not blogging, or there is no traffic. Are these people ghosts? What is the sense of having these trackers, and someone signs up and doesn't participate...

I wonder how many referrals the Hubbers have managed so far. I have only around 250 so far with a 1000 hubs published by them. Just curious.

I get plenty of traffic coming from my trackers outside hubpages but it has not brought in any new hubbers through my trackers. Has anybody had any luck in bringing new hubbers with their referral trackers?(I have posted this topic in Q&A yesterday but Hubpages said this should go in Forum...

Trying to see if I understand this correctly. The trackers only work from outside of HP, correct? So if I have a new affiliate tracker on my profile page or in a hub, it's worthless to me, right? And if I link from one of my hubs to someone else's via a traffic tracker, again, it does me no good,...

I've had a few people sign up under my trackers when I send out emails of my hubs, but I was wondering what some of the rest of you have done as far as setting up a more unique way to have friends and family sign up here at hubpages? For some strange reason I don't think my profile link for sign...

Like referrals.1. Why insert an _referralcode into the URL. Couldn't you come up with a dynamic insertion solution? If an insertion was required, what's wrong with appending it at the end of the URL as in ?referrer=xyz? or would that make it too easy for hubbers?2. Why do pages like the Referrals...
