From around 500 - 600 a day my traffic kept falling and was constant around 350 - 400 for the past 2 months. Now it's just 85... And I'm not saying I was affected by the Panda, my hubs are still ranking around the same positions. Any idea what could be the reason? Last December it wasn't this low and I had just 4 - 5 hubs published. Could it be due to the holidays - such a huge drop?
Panda Update 21st Dec + Christmas Seasonal loss of traffic over the weekend.
I thought it was the latest panda update, but then my rankings aren't affected. Checked webmaster tools too (those are usually 3-4 days late to update) but my rankings are increasing. Manually checked a few terms for the best performing hubs and they're still up there.
Maybe the weekend + Christmas season Hope it is.
I think it's related to the expiration of security certificate of hubpages. This huge drop of traffic does not come from panda or Christmas.
Hi Soni, completely forgot about that. That could be it Thanks so much.
May I ask you what is 'security certificate of hubpages'?
Now I understand why mine is so low. Thanks for the info.
Also check the thread here:
http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/107280
Yup, I'm keeping track of all those threads. Was just shocked to see it from 400 to 65 when I woke up.
My traffic appears to be stuck on one number and the views are in the minus ,this is not good:(
My views are in the minus when I check traffic sources. I've seen -1 on a few very often. But, today I got one that's -10 from google.co.in
My traffic has all but disappeared. Overnight. I really hope this is a glitch - it feels like I am running harder and harder to stay in the same place, traffic-wise. And now it has all disappeared.
I'm with you. I was cut in half a little over a week ago, and then overnight, the traffic I was getting has nearly vanished.
I am in the same boat. My traffic had dropped earlier this month and then had picked up and was climbing. When I look at my stats page this morning(UK time) I was surprised to find a page of blue arrows. It looks like I lost 100's of views overnight and they are not back yet.
I just read the official comments about the security certificate issue. I am concerned, if it has a connection to the traffic drop was it avoidable? Anyway I have asked a question about that.
2uesday, I do hope it was due to that issue else my traffic is dead. Analytics seems almost normal for this time. My traffic fell 40% and grew back a bit and even increased to an all time high this month. Lot's of fluctuations, but this was surprising. Will just have to wait 24 hours to see what happens.
I'm surprised how quietly everyone accepted the removal of our TAGS....
I don't think HP could deny that tags have a bearing on traffic... Do you?
Other than having 9 different and major traffic sources showing minus traffic (which in itself is BS!) even pearldiver.hubpages has minus traffic showing
My TOTAL 24 hrs traffic is the biggest joke of all - Lowest Ever in 3 years....... 28 views for 88 hubs! Unbelievable!
It's got NOTHING to do with Google - other than the fact that bots are being redirected and All the Short URLs for at least 80% of my hubs are BAD.... Perhaps this basic SEO stuff left with Larry Freeman
Pearl...everyone and his brother denied tags had a bearing on traffic.
Really???
I must be obtuse!
What exactly has been the practical purpose of Tags in the online publishing world outside of NZ??
I know some Kiwis are considered too open, friendly and too blatantly in your face, or able to nag ya to death if you tell a porky.... And also that we are some 'backward' race with big feet and hobbit looks.... But Hey.... we do consider transparency and honesty to be quite important in life....
Are you telling me that all those tag thingies that I had to attach to every page I've ever published, were actually of no value at all... traffic or otherwise???
I feel betrayed! Slighted! And a victim of false promotion, most foul!
lol, apparently the tags were only ever used internally on HP and were never visible to the search engines outside of HP e.g. Google. Apparently HP stopped using them even for internal searches many months ago, but only just got around to telling all the poor hubbers who had been continuing to add tags throughout the time they were actually no longer being utilised anyway.
That is as pathetic and intellectually insulting as some of the other 'Internal' exercises that have gone on here... like removing 'Helpful' accolades if they don't like your comments.... Unfanning people that you know you had previously followed... Using one's images and hubs to drive traffic to the 'community' pages, instead of the hubs directly... Internally breaking All one's short URL links and then 'idling' their hubs... etc, etc, etc...
But... as I said... perhaps I'm obtuse... time will tell that, won't it?
I just had the same thing happen! I have a hub that gets anywhere from 200 to 500 hits a day....all of a sudden, yesterday it went down to -0-!!!! I'm freaking out! I just pinged it again....I hope it gets back to normal.
This is my worst month since I started with Hubpages almost 6 years ago. What a shame to see this business disappearing before our eyes. Just goes to show you that nothing lasts forever.
What a perfectly perfect sentiment that you have posted for so many of us who, like you, Believed!
Nice to meet you... irrespective of circumstances...
Enjoy at least, the festive season... take care..
Woah now, that's a crumby attitude.
I think HubPages will be just fine. Every business goes through ups and downs.
It's like Alec Baldwin says in Glenngary Glen Ross...
"The leads are weak? The leads are weak?! You're weak."
Just replace the 'leads' (he was talking to real estate salesmen) with 'traffic.'
Not that anyone is weak or anything. All I'm saying is that if we stick with it, we'll get through this. And reap the rewards that could have fallen to those who might have roughed it too but didn't!
Though I have lost more than half of my traffic, I am not worried at all.I know that traffic will come back.
Yay them good old days seem to be gone where you got a lot of traffic. Seems to go up and down now all the time.
Yep.... also time to design your own app .... There you go... what a way to avoid the downs
What seemed like it would happen a long time ago is finally going to happen today!! 100k views in a day at this rate (Just 67 more views to go!) I would have got all this and much much more from a single hub if the stats were working together
The stats are broken.. simple as that.. look at your Google analytics they will tell a different story.
On HP I am showing negative views from many sources as well as being only 15% of what I would normally be.
I would expect a major drop this week anyway as everyone will either be shopping or partying, maybe if you have a host of Christmas shopping hubs you may get more visitors but certainly my hubs will not be top of anyone's search list over Christmas..
Don't worry.. it'll get fixed.. everything does eventually.. and traffic will be back to the normal ride in Jan...
Merry Christmas everyone.. off to buy a few cases of beer for the next few days - my stats can worry themselves - not me!!! Have a great one.....
True to that, but analytics showed a drop yesterday as well. Was much higher but still a 50% drop compared to the usual.
Unfortunately, I had a drastic drop in traffic too. I went from 165 views to a mere 15 views in a week. I remain optimistic, though. I've done too much to allow myself to get down in the dumps...*puts on a defiant face*
Glad I found this thread my traffic was down to 30 views a day, which was what I was at about 2-3 months ago. Hopefully this gets fixed after the holidays, blue arrows are not encouraging.
I've had the most traffic this month than all my 3 years here.
Bat115, same here in my one year. Now it's gone up to 130 from the 600 or so But it's christmas season hope it goes back up.
The certificate thing appeared to affect my traffic badly, for a short time. Visitors returned and the stats. climbed well now it is on a down slope again.
A graph of my traffic would look like the much over used term a roller-coaster ride.
Having said that for me the HubPages account is still worth having. I am learning not to be as concerned about the journey the stats. take, as for me I think that might be part of having my having pages here.
Just touched 200 again and I'm noticing that hubs that don't usually do well are getting 15 views or so (That's small, but for hubs that get just 2 views or so a day - it's huge). I'd never give up on my HP account no matter what happens. It's one of the finest places to be - learnt a lot here.

Last summer vacation, my traffic was pretty high it reacher 250-400 plus per day now, I only got 150-250 views per day. I was wondering because it searches must increase since it is school opening in Philippines now. I wonder why, hmm. My earnings every day is starting to decrease too.Is hubpages...

I see signs that Traffic is Starting To Come Back After the Latest Panda? It is hard to confirm since HubPages is not providing traffic stats during their changeover to a new data provider. Has anyone else noticed a recovery in traffic after the steep Panda related drop off?

Hey Guys and Gals, Man, I have just about had it with the traffic issues here at the Hubpages. I have published over 100 hubs here in two years. I have won several awards, I have had over 10, 000 views, and I have a following of over 200 people. When this whole traffic loss debacle first occurred,...

I have kept quiet about this for a while now, but after the Panda update I saw my traffic drop a little then normalize (as expected after any Google update). However since I made the changes required by Hubpages (and I assume changes enforced upon everybody else) I have seen steadily declining...

Yes, there was a Panda update yesterday, but this topic will be focused on things we could see far in advance of this update. As someone who has written extensively on both HubPages and Squidoo perhaps I can offer a little bit of insight. While I typically remain silent I'm hoping my feedback on...

Now that the general Hubpages population can join the Hubpages ad program I have to wonder, is it worth it? I have been with Hubpages about two months and have only gained a couple clicks on Adsense. Do I have a better chance of making money from the HP program, or should I stick with...
