I am trying desperately to cancel the Amazon and Google Analytics reports associated with this site.  I am very unhappy with the way they work.  I just want to keep my HubPages account and keep writing.  I am NOT IN THIS FOR THE MONEY!!!!!!  I find writing therapeutic and a great stress reliever...except for now!  Please HELP!!  If I do not get any help, I will have to cancel my HubPages account...which I do NOT want to have to do.

Proceed to https://hubpages.com/my/earnings/affiliate/ and click the relevant configure buttons? Hopefully the options are there. smile

I think rmcrayne said it pretty well...

What is so bad with the way they are working that is making you unhappy? Is it that you aren't earning? Are you sure you signed up for an account with each? The options for them will always show up under the earnings header, just like ebay, HP ad program and analytics whether you have signed up or not. Each has an oval next to it that will say "active" if you do have an account.

Even if you are "not writing here to make money" there really is no harm in having the ad programs associated with your HP acct. Many of us are here with the same reasons but still have ad program accts because why not? So maybe you only make .12 cents in a year lol its 12 more cents than you had before!

If you still want so desperately to cancel your accts, go to the Amazon and Googleadsense report pages. From there, you will be able to cancel accts and get help from the sites themselves as well. Of course, your account will be terminated on those sites and if you do decide later that you want to try and earn from HP, you would have to sign up for them all over again....

sorry- just reread your post and noticed you said analytics specifically. Sorry if my post makes no sense,  thought all the posts were talking about the ad programs! big_smile

Why worry about cancelling them?   If you don't use them, you can simply ignore them, they won't bother you.

Perhaps if you explain why you don't like them, we can work out why they're bothering you.

Unfortunately there is no way to cancel on that page; just sign up.  It looks like I will have to cancel my HubPages account.

Well, I'm too chicken to go experimenting with my own account to see what's what. big_smile

Hopefully, someone from HP will come along...

Meanwhile, can't you just ignore Amazon and Analytics? I've been ignoring Amazon for years. lol

If you merely don't put any Amazon capsules in any Hubs, you will not earn from Amazon:  problem solved.

As for AdSense, you may turn off those ads if you successfully meet the conditions stipulated by HibPages for disabling ads.  Please note, HubPages will still continue to show ads during the randomized 40% of the time when they get the page impressions.

Writing here and not bothering with money is easily accomplished.  All this is explained in the FAQ, Learning Center and TOS.

it is not explained easily enough for me to understand.  i need step-by-step instructions and they don't have that.  no idea what you mean by not putting capsules in the hubs.  what is a capsule???

If you're not putting Amazon capsules (and from your question I assume you are not) in your hub, then you have no Amazon ads showing.  Problem solved.

Then how on Earth were you able to create your 35 hubs to begin with? big_smile

Go into edit mode. Find where the Amazon critter is. Click the red X to get rid of it. The critter will disappear. Critter=Capsule.

loyerd6 - I have followed along in this thread to see the outcome. Everyone has desperately been trying to help you. Why don't you just continue what you're doing and ignore what is bothering you. Just ignore the reports if you don't want to use them. And as far as Amazon goes, you probably never added any Amazon capsules anyway since you don't know about capsules. So just continue with what works for you and leave it at that. How does that sound as a solution?

Glen, I have only been on HP a short time, but I have observed that the people who are uspset at the earning programs and the Amazon program are not making any money. Maybe loyerd6 is just complaining becuase all or her hubs are idled and she thinks that by removing the ads they will come out of hiding. Maybe she does not like Amazone because she has not learned how to use it.
Sorry loyerd6 you are not going to attract readers by removing your ads. Unless you learn to use capsules and make your hubs a little more searchable, no one is going to read them. It does not matter if you cancel your Adsense, cancel your HP account, or just stop submitting hubs.

Yep.  Here's the rub.  The things that make us money are tied to the things that bring us readers.  Whether someone wants the money or not, without traffic no one is enjoying our writing.

if by 'critter' you mean the box with the amazon logo with the 'a' and the smile on the right side of the page, then there's no red x in the box.

If you don't know what a capsule is, then I'd guess you wouldn't know how to set up a Google account either.  If you have no account, then you are not earning any Google or HP Ads money.  If you don't put in Amazon capsules, then you don't earn Amazon money.  Either way, if you don't like the reports but love the writing, then ignore the reports and keep writing.

You seem really upset by this, and I'm so sorry but I don't really get it as to why.

Hey paradigmsearch, that's really cool. I was always wanting to have a way to make a list of ONLY my hubs that had Amazon capsules. And "only eBay" too for that matter.  Do you know how to do that?  I replaced Amazon with eBay after the "&capsule=" tag, but it didn't work.

Interesting link, showing not just hubs but amazon capsules individually.

paradigmsearch - You can ignore my last post. I just read this post of yours and can't believe I never was aware of those filter options before. Ebay needed a capital "E" and small "b" - unusual but that works. I wonder what else I'm missing after three years. smile

I wonder, why do you want to write without even earning something? Isn't it a nice proposition? While you are doing what you like through writing, you are also earning passively.

Just an FYI, the original poster in this thread no longer exists.

Either that person was soooo stressed at getting answers to their question that they just had to leave permanently, or they were a very successful troll who skiddadled to post another day from another account.

Personally, I do not have analytics attached to my Hubpages.  Too complicated to really apply if you are just in this for therapy.  You can probably just leave the accounts and they will eventually be cancelled due to inactivity, or try contacting someone in authority at Hubpages who can help you with this.
