I would really like to know why my hubpage article is getting turned down? I finally had a chance to work on it and it took me a while to edit it. When I got done I was sure it was just fine but then I got a message it needs more work. I would like to know how I can fix it so it will published? Is there a way to get it proof read with notes so I know what to change?

From looking at the URL address...is the hub written for the purpose of selling lunch containers? Is there a way you can change the focus, but still get the same result? 10 Coolest features in Lunch Boxes. Top 4 Colors for Lunch Boxes for Girls and Boys. Girls' Cool School Lunch Boxes. Find a way to focus on a topic that is not selling, but have lunch boxes shown to illustrate points. Also, have you read the rubric for rating hubs? Maybe seeing that will help you when looking over your own work.

    Good luck!
p.s. You need to get (I think) an average of 6 between the three areas (substance/organization/grammar&mechanics) to pass QAP.

...is the hub written for the purpose of selling lunch containers? yes, I have both and would like to share these with other people and get them understand that they are safter then buying plastic ones. I guess my title isn't catchy enough. I have read about some of it but I guess I will have to keep looking over it everytime I write one. If there is someone that can read over my hubs before I publish them that would great, I have trouble with organiztion and grammer.

If you wrote a hub wit the purpose of selling lunch containers it may be rejected because it may come off as too promotional...

Trust me, I understand! I had the same thing happen to me. Finally after resubmitting it over and over again, Hubpages decided that they just would not allow me to revise it again!

I don't know how to send you a message through HP. Sorry. If I knew how, I'd send my email address and you could send me your text in an email. I'd look it over and see if I had any suggestions.

I suspect you are not getting published because the hub is over-promotional.  You are not allowed to write hubs to sell products.  You can't even write hubs to sell other people's products.  You can write an honest review about a product, but it must not be over promotional with tons of "go here to buy this" type links.  I doubt they'd let you post a hub with the intent to sell a product.

Hubs need to be about other topics that aren't over promotional.  You may want to go to the learning center and read up on HubPages rules and the tons of other topics there.  If your article is basically a text ad for a product, it won't be published, and may even be completely removed.

    Good luck. smile

I tried not to promomote too much I just told people I used these products how much better they were then plastic ones. Put two youtube videos about them. I might have over done it.

Add like a sentence or two.  You'd be surprised how magically it works.  And if it is below 500 words, chances are they will unpublish it.

HubPages staff really needs to add a feature for hubs, like a "Notes" page, wher the reviewer can actually tell you what is wrong with your hub rather than making you feel like a chicken with your head cut off, because you can't figure out what is wrong.

Spending time repeatedly revising a hub, when we actually don't know what the problem is, is just wasting time. And then on top of that the staff has to waste their time answering our e-mails about why our hubs weren't published.

    kthix10posted 11 years ago

Just a random thought - did you actually ever publish this or are you getting the generic this may be deemed not up to standards message when you are first creating a hub.  If there isn't enough content  or words that message will automatically appear when you are editing the hub.  The hub is not reviewed before it is actually published though it is only based on word count.

  14. Oklahomamom2 profile image61
    Oklahomamom2posted 11 years ago

No I never published it, I posted it to publish then it said needed more work so quit messing with it for a while so I could figure out what I had done wrong. Then why don't have something that says check content or word count. I'm sorry but I have to have clear instructions or someone tell me what I did wrong so I can fix it. If they are not clear instuctions the I don't understand as well. Ya I need to look at again today when  I get time.

This explains what a stellar hub should look like

Just like others, I can't view the hub either but judging from the title you gave your hub, it sounds like a promotional hub which is not traffic friendly and is a violation of hub rules.

Since you haven't written any hubs, let me try and give you some advice:

Stay away from promoting items as hub pages strictly hates that. If you want to be successful,  write inspiring stories, or useful content that people are looking for. Your topic is very "low quality" meaning not a lot of people are looking for what you're writing about. Choose topics that people are constantly searching for, e.g "how to train a dog," or best chocolate recipe, or even "Making lunch fun for kids" and write ideas of how people can improve on that.  Your hub was most likely rejected because it just didn't have enough quality.

Remember quality is always better than quantity. I only have five hubs but over 100,000 people have viewed my hubs and still counting. Yesterday alone my earnings was $29.34 and I've just been rewarded editors choice. There are people here who write hundreds of hubs and yet nobody sees their articles because of lack of quality. Focus on quality, use attractive keywords and make sure you're articles is at least 1250 words long. Use your own photos, your own videos. Add all the capsules but don't plague your article with amazon, eBay, Google adverts as that also diminishes your hub. Hope this helps!

thanks so much that is very helpful, but I have a question if they don't want you promoting amazon then why do they have link for you to put something there. I don't understand how can you be affiliate for amazon if you can't really use it.

There is a difference between a hub having advertising, and a hub being advertising.

      2. Aneegma profile image72
Aneegmaposted 11 years agoin reply to this

Because the sole purpose of you being on hubpages is written original content and not advertising your own stuff. You can put one or two links but when the whole article is overshadowed by affiliate links, then it becomes more about your links and not the content.

        1. Oklahomamom2 profile image61
Oklahomamom2posted 11 years agoin reply to this

I feel that most of it was my original thoughts and feelings about the product itself. Because I have used it before thats why I wrote the article. I see your point thanks for helping me. Thank you for explaining in a way I can understand.

As the hub is no longer published there is no way for me to help you as I can't access the hub and read it. And I'd need that to offer suggestions...
