on my hubs, I've noticed news capsules are down...no news, and sometimes the key word part is gone...
Correct. And TRAFFIC from yahoo has decreased. Yahoo News Capsule has direct relationship with traffic from Yahoo here at Hubpages.
It's probably something to do with the ongoing PING problem!
I have noticed the same thing at times. For me it is usually when my bandwidth is low.
News capsule uses title of hub by default as a phrase to search news items related to your hub. Try to use key word. If problem persists, try to use related (other) key words.
Still not working here since yesterday, regardless of words used.
Did we ever hear from management what the problem was that all of us were grappling with yesterday on Hubtivity?
I haven't heard anything and was wondering if it's because it's the weekend and we will get an answer tomorrow! I hope this doesn't go PING! lol
I've been having issues with this on most of my new hubs today. Sometimes the news links show up, most of the time they don't.
We're been working on the issue. The problem is that yahoo has is intermittently blocking us from fetching their news rss feeds. Since we link to yahoo in every news capsules and provide them with traffic, I can't really fathom why they'd do this. Anyway, we should have a fix pretty soon.
I haven't researched it specifically, but I'm skeptical that there is a significant correlation between having a yahoo news feed and getting yahoo search traffic.
I don't know about scientific, but I keep an excel spreadsheet on my hubs and there is a difference in traffic between ones with news capsules and ones without, not a lot, but enough to notice.
Can anyone give us news about the news capsules not working and when they will? Thanks!!! Marisue

Is there a problem with the news capsules? Seems like none of mine are working? Did I miss something?

Like many others here, I've tried to add a relevant news capsule to some of my hubs in order to have self-updating and relevant content.Unfortunately, it hasn't been working so well. Two issues have come up that I've noticed:1. Broken news linksI understand this isn't a hubpages problem, but it is...

...And those hubs about doubled in traffic.Could be coincidence, I'm not sure. I did it on a few hubs that got 5 or less hits a day, and now they're getting 10. I changed them on Friday and watched them all weekend. One of the ones I changed that usually gets between 7 and 10 is...

The message is that the "URL is mistyped." My hub loads in Firefox and Yahoo! browsers. Also, of the three browsers I run - Yahoo! seems to load everything best. As I said, IE 7 doesn't load at all (it loads briefly for 3-5 seconds w/ Google ads before above message) and Firefox...

Hi,On two of my three published hubs there are two ads for Amazon that were functioning earlier today but now are not. I have closed the capsules and put them in again but that has not worked. I refreshed the pages and that did not work. I also checked to see if there was a notice saying that my...
