Actually I have already done so at least a dozen times.  That really is the secret. Instead of being an impossible project, it is instead just a series of irritating tasks that eventually and inevitably end up being a project successfully completed.

Around 4:40 am for me. Another day begins.

Wrapped up the taxes yesterday. Another monster paperwork project begins today. Plus, yesterday I discovered that Google has been messing up the indexing of my website; got to get that fixed somehow.
Writing? Who has time for writing? I miss writing.

        An idea...

I might as well make some money off this hot topic. If so inclined, email me a list of your Death Metal URLs you would like me to link to; the more, the better. Include the title you want associated with each URL. I'll see what I can do. It's a long shot and will take some work to make the list; so if not interested, that's ok. smile

Ummm... I have no idea what you're proposing. Links for what?

The funny thing is I'm not even a death metal fan... the "WOOOORRRRRGH" vocal style annoys the heck out of me... I even warned the first band about that and their response was "That's OK, we need press," so I'm like "Oooookay, I hope they're good sports," haha

All I can say is I've had some success in this regard before. If you don't like the results, I'll immediately take it down. However, you say you're not a Death Metal fan; so sounds like making that list would be work, not fun. That being the case, probably not worth your time; oh well.

    Meanwhile, from an email....

    WHAT CAUSES ARTHRITIS?

A drunk man who smelled of beer sat down on a subway next to a priest.

The man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half-empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket.  He opened his newspaper and began reading.

After a few minutes the man turned to the priest and asked, "Say Father, what causes arthritis?"

The priest replies, "My Son, it's caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol, contempt for your fellow man, sleeping around with prostitutes and lack of a bath."

The drunk muttered in response, "Well, I'll be damned”, then returned to his paper.

The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized. "I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?"

The drunk answered, "I don't have it, Father.
I was just reading here that the Pope does."

    Along those same lines:

A little boy comes in the house and asks, "Dad, where did I come from?"
The father squirms a bit, but sits his son down and launches into an explanation of "the birds and bees."
The child sits patiently, if somewhat confusedly until his father finishes.
Dad then asked him, "Did you understand that, and what brought that up?"
The little boy said, "Oh, yes, well, Jimmy across the street said he comes from Ohio, so I wondered where I came from."

    lol

Yes, indeed--check in to make sure you understand the question...

Thought I'd start the day on a happy note. Been having internet connection problems for the last several days. Finally bit the bullet and called the ISP tech support. The problem did indeed turn out to be them and not me. Bless their hearts, they had the problem fixed before the end of the day. As a side note, if you happen to have a phone landline, DSL will save you a fortune in internet costs. Handles video/etc. just fine; up time 99%. I've become fond of them over the last 2 years.

Either on this thread or the other one I had talked about needing a job because my Mom had been put in a nursing home after I'd been taking care of her for many years. Can't remember if I followed up, I think I did mention I'd gotten a job.

At any rate, I had gotten a job, was night shift and partly on the weekend, wasn't enjoying those aspects; so, got another job, which I still currently have. It's not ideal, but it's tolerable and pays the bills. It's in the line of work I've done for years, teaching and taking care of people with developmental disabilities in a day program. Been a bumpy ride, ran into some weirdness on the job  quite a few times but I'm at least partly happy that I've got something that pays rent and bills (barely).

Can't even blame the politicians for this one. The idiotic general population came up with this law via one of the propositions decades ago.

Meanwhile, I think I'm entering an all-things-writing-and-website burnout phase. Continually working hard and getting no results is destroying my motivation, especially since all the problems are because of others actions as opposed to anything I've done or failed to do. Contemplating dropping all activity altogether.

Ever need to know an extinct URL, even from years ago? Probably for DMCA purposes?

Go to Google Webmaster Tools. Find your old HP Profile Name. Find the Crawl Errors page. You will find the URL there, which you can then refer to when doing the DMCA.

Interesting how hubs deleted years ago are still being crawled for and the cache is still stashed somewhere. Nothing ever dies on the internet it seems. Gotta wonder if that old cache affects new location ranking? Looks like doing the Remove URL/cache process is mandatory, if you want a decent chance in SERPs.

My daily views have been about the same recently. One of my Hubs gets almost double traffic on the weekend. I am wondering why this is?

Also, some of my Hubs are pretty much dead trafficwise. I am testing some things to see if this will help jumpstart them. I most likely will just write them off as bad ideas for HubPages. At least I am getting an idea of what will work and won't work.
