Haven't had a smog check on any vehicle in 20 years. When we moved to a small CA county we found out they don't require it.

I was just thinking- children in most families are indoctrinated, if not brainwashed by their parents to believe in certain paradigms such as religion, politics, & career/occupation.   Most parents do not or refuse to expose their children to other religious, political, or sociocultural viewpoints.  The average family environment can be quite stultifying to say the least.  Only a few enlightened, advanced parents encourage their children to explore all options.

That seems like an odd answer. Are you saying that I should have a smog check anyway?

gmwilliams,  I agree that I was indoctrinated and discouraged from conflicting information.  Then when I grew up, I learned that there are many ways of thinking, and all sorts of nice people think differently.  I felt betrayed in a way.

Yep, that is just one of the reasons I so much want to clear out of this town; unfortunately, financially trapped. However, due to my chaotic existence at the moment, my life timeline could shoot off in so many different directions that I've lost count. Not a complaint, some of those directions could be quite good.

Well, my chaotic week has ended as of around 9:00 am (local time of course). Re-chaos resumes next week. As for the next three days, all mine. Will I make it without being forum banned? I will sincerely try. This place provides an amazing reality release for me; particularly as to whatever whacked out, fun experiment that may come to mind. I am reasonably certain those are enjoyed or at least not minded by most. Leastwise, I hope so. Stay tuned.

The bad news. Still haven't reset any of my clocks, a new slacker first for me.

The ambiguous news. Did another Facebook ad. Will run for 7 days at a $1/day. Anything short of a resounding success and I am done with Facebook.

The good news. No new disasters to report, though the previous ones are all still on the table. Meanwhile, done got serious accomplishments already completed this month. Previously reported chaos still in play, so how this month will end for me is anybody's guess.

          Update.

Reset all the clocks; slacker status rescinded.

FB ad WWNN campaign has begun.

2 out of 3 isn't bad. HP traffic still at sudden drop. Doesn't make sense. It didn't occur to me Veteran's Day on Friday would be a factor, but nothing else comes to mind. Now I'm wondering if I should postpone the FB WWNN ad until next week.

  17. paradigmsearch profile image60
    paradigmsearchposted 7 years ago

Well, traffic less than stellar at HP and WWNN today. However, straight AdSense and FB Ads partially salvaged things. Curiosity killed the paradigmsearch, but I'm going to let it all ride again tomorrow. If traffic desertion still in place, I will run back to HP Ads; I figure the EBDA whatever will have been sorted out by then.  I'll also probably suspend the FB Ads until next week.

  18. paradigmsearch profile image60
    paradigmsearchposted 7 years ago

Wednesday morning. Well, traffic improved by 30%; not bad. But AdSense and FB ads are nothing to write home about it. However, the day is young; so am letting the adventure continue for at least all of Wednesday.

Looks like the North Korea mess is about to escalate again. If they (or others) follow typical terrorist psychology, they will do something on the 11th; however, to do so would be incredibly stupid on their part. The US would have no choice but to respond in the extreme.

Meanwhile, we all have our own life messes to contend with.

Amazingly active thread, but I can see why. When there's something you really want to say it's good to have a place for it.

Just got word yesterday that I'm most likely going to get a job that I've been waiting on for awhile. Just have to jump through a couple more hoops. It pays more than my current job and I'll be working a regular day shift, as opposed to the horrid night shift I have to work now. Plus it's closer to what I'd rather do as opposed to what I'm currently doing, though it's related to the work I do now.

Sunday. Sunday. Another random day in another random world. The flowers are chirping and the birds are blooming. Who will entropy pounce on today? Whose timelines will intersect with whom? Life altering events will abound as usual. Mundane events will abound as usual. For those who haven't noticed, Thanksgiving is next week. Time can sure be a pest. Yep. Bad karma in, bad karma out. Whether we realize it or not, our subconscious is affected by what we feed it.

Real-world obstruction and sabotage everywhere I turn today, blatant and overwhelming. Previous experience has taught me to just give it up and shut it down for the day; a sudden trend is a trend is a trend is a trend. Weird, actually. Not a complaint, November 1-14 were excellent; I guess I was just statistically due. Rest of day will be just diddling around online and doing routine chores around the house. In other words, just got to wait until the karma cloud moves on.

What I just described happens to virtually everyone. The secret is to recognize it as soon as possible and do what I do, i.e., don't fight it and just wait it out. Will attempt to resume normal, proactive activities again tomorrow. As for today; well, those chores had to eventually be done anyway. And who knows? Maybe I'll even come up with a decent meme or two. big_smile

      An update.

Ten minutes after making the previous post, I get a phone call informing me that my earlier attempt to fix one of the aforementioned sabotages/obstructions was successful. How about that? big_smile

              Update.

Usual Friday night forum doldrums I see.

Had to deal with 3 items today. Entropy was mostly a no show for 2 of them, got it done.

Third one, medical of course, got the perfect meme for it. However, even though such memes were ok in the past; I'm too chicken to post it in fear of forum ban. Suffice to say we all know life is interesting.

A word was missing from my previous post, not intentional. Amazing how one word, missing or slightly off mark, can trigger a whole new chain of events.

No, not math, tired of that. I am also highly perturbed at a chess problem corner I've gotten myself into that I truly can't seem to solve. I hate that. lol

Let's do something more complicated, namely our lives and minds.

You triggered my looking at my old bubblews posts archive. Found a treasure trove of FB and even website posts I can use. Most of them are even so darn good I am not going to waste them on the zero-earning forums.

Speaking of Facebook, freaking hopeless as to generating earnings; but others have. Guess I'll just keep pecking away at it.

Meanwhile, here's one I've already given up on as to earnings and posted on FB.

    ----------

Home Depot has ATM’s. I did not know that.

I decided I needed $40. I put in my card and made the request.

The ATM informed me in effect, “Sorry, dude. Am offline.”

    I really needed that $40.

Home Depot has sledgehammers. That I did know. I went and got one.

I once again properly addressed the ATM. Once again, no joy.

10 minutes later I had my $40. Home Depot could no longer sell the sledgehammer as new. Sorry about that.

As for the ATM and money scattered all over the floor, I really did feel bad. But I really needed that $40. I even left a note on what was left of the ATM so they could deduct it from my account.

    I went about my business...

While standing in the checkout line 15 minutes later, two nice police officers showed up.

    “Hi,” said I.

    “You’re under arrest,” said they.

The cot was quite comfy. But alas, they took my $40.

Well, while the rest of the country is in chaos mode (day before Thanksgiving), I am home for the day. Got some rather unpleasant dealings that must be done and today looks like the day to do so; will hopefully have that part of the day wrapped up by noon.

Meanwhile, am becoming frustrated with Google. Am tired of trying to contribute worthwhile information to society and having Google refuse to tell anyone about it for the first year of publication. Writing has been a major part of my life for the last several years, but I think those days are done. Time to find a new passion.
