         Hi Beth and thank you!! I never thought I would ever see something like this personally in my lifetime. So So sad. The coast line will never be the same, BUT we will rebuild. New Jersey is a strong state and all of us will get through this

            I'm so relieved you and Linda are safe and sound.   but the aftermath -- I'm speechless. 
            
            Sandy made it's way up here.... one woman was killed by a sign that flew off a building.  And then an electrician trying to restore power to thousands was electrocuted.    Where I am, we've had wind and a lot of rain, but no one has been hurt.  Today, it's only 2C, but with the wind, it feels like it is below zero.  I wonder if the rain will turn to sleet, and if it does, then there will hundreds of accidents. 
            
            I'm heading out for the day with my daughter.   It's out semi-annual day out together, and I'm sooo looking forward to it. 
            
            You have a wonderful day Mark, and yes, human spirit is strong, especially when there is a common thread to work towards.    Lots of love!  xox

   I've seen terrible images of your east coast from this side of the Atlantic.
   Moments of suffering and sadness will give place to reconstruction as it has always been.
   Next spring, it will be a bad memory, even if all is not completely healed.
   All kinds of boats will again sail on those Atlantic waters so rude sometimes.
   People will again enjoy the Sun.
   And we'll see what next year brings us.
   Most sympathising greetings from here.

      Thanks, Joy.     It's finally 'quiet' here in NC.  It actually got a bit sunny around 3:30 pm and the rain stopped.    New Jersey and New York have been hit the hardest I think.

            A 'good haul' means candy for mommy       I was good-only had two mini snickers and a gummie eye ball (15 calories) and a little pkg of malt balls.  (whew, for a moment I thought I wrote 'meatballs')

          hi Beth and Klara and all the rest of the gang,
          
          back home just now from work. Wow they are so so busy!!! We are selling skids and skids of water. Still no power 2 mile from me and Long Beach Island no power and no beach. 6 foot of sand on the roads. The 246 Million dollar beach restore is all on land. I feel this. As soon as the Island is open to get on I will have lots of work to do helping my sister clean up the horrible mess.
          I love you too and miss talking but up here is a very busy place trying to get everyone's ;ife back to a bit of normalcy.

    I was thinking, if this ever ends, the next version of this thread should be done using a sniper.
    
    I.e. An end time is set, and if a reply is made within say 6 hours of the end time, then the end time is extended by 6 hours.
    
    Anyway, in the meantime, I win... for now.
