Last week's HubMob on Eye and Ear Care gathered 22 official contributions. Thanks to all the HubMobsters who took part in it. A special mention to Ethel Smith our most prolific HubMobster last week with three entries, Well done Ethel!
This week we are going to help Larry Freeman to fill up and give some hub love to one of the categories he created for us: Crafts & Handiwork. For those of you who are not familiar with Larry, he is a member of the HubPages team; he is really helpful and always there to answer your questions. It was Larry who created the "broken link" finder and who is always updating and creating new features in HubPages to make our writing experience more enjoyable. Thanks Larry!
Yesterday I went to a Mediaeval festival and I had the opportunity to appreciate ancient forms of handcrafts, all so beautiful and delicate that they are on their own a form of art. The people who make them are artisans who have learnt skills that hopefully will pass down to new generations. Making things with one's hands can be daunting for beginners, but it is a greatly satisfying when the work is finished. If you have any special skill, this is the time to hub about it, to share your knowledge and why not maybe start some of us in the practice of your favourite handiwork.
Some topics that need HubLove this week are:
Flower Crafts
Flower Arranging
Flower Pressing
Homemade Toys
Leatherwork
Music Makers
Stonework
Knitting
Spinning
Weaving
Embroidery
Cross Stitching
Machine Embroidery

http://hubpages.com/hub/Stumpwork--Coun … ork-Hubmob
Here's another one
Stumpwork is a very old form of embellished embroidery similar to appilque in many ways. The other two, ribbon embroidery and counted cross stitch, are lovely art forms in their own right.
Here's mine.. Make a styrofoam tabletop waterfall!
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Make-a-T … -Waterfall
The Crafty HubMob hub has been updated.
RedElf, I've never heard of stumpwork before, sounds interesting.
Thanks, Shirley, it can be really strange looking too, but I love all the textures of the different materials. It's a kind of three-dimensional fabric collage, but with clearly defined shapes. Neat stuff.
Sadly, I am the least craft-capable person that I've ever met. It would look even stranger if I attempted it.
I love crafts, but I found that interviewing someone last week for my Hubmob topic created some interesting results. When I ran into Ol' Toothless Jake Goldbug whittling on his porch high in a remote area of the blue mountains yonder, I knew I just had to interview him.
