of course the  ladies  are more articulate  and  attract attention.
    have  more  fans
males  read  the    ladies  hubs and become  fans
ladies read ladises  hubs  and  become  fans
poor  males  . any one disagree?

What about all the guys who are pretending to be women?

Hmm I'm not sure I agree.  I'm female and a I read hubs by men, women and indeterminate hubbers!

LOL give and you shall receive.

This has nothing to do with gender. Become a fan of those who are your fans already. Go out and become a fan of other people. As easy as that smile

I would think gender to be largely irrelevant on HubPages and also in general on the internet.

It hasn´t happened to me, right now I have 40 fans and at least 23 of them are women (well, if I believe in Relanche it´s probably less lolol).

As Caspar said there are also many indeterminate hubbers so it´s difficult to count.

I cannot tell the gender of some of my fans or or other Hubbers and It makes no difference to me. Good Hubs are good hubs, even if a dishmop or the nextdoor cat wrote them.

    Peoples iz peoples.

Quality content, search engine indexing and getting backlinks (whether from your own work, or others loving your stuff) is what will get you ranking better.

A pretty picture for an avatar will only deliver moderate success.

To some it's tempting because it's a short cut to avoid no success, but it's not a long term solution.
