Thank you to all the HubMobsters who made a success of the Halloween HubMob.  We had so many good quality entries that Shirley
had to make a second HubMob hub to house all your terrific contributions.  We managed a total of 50 hubs!!! http://i28.tinypic.com/24l26va.jpg

This week we are going into thanksgiving mode.  Not just Thanksgiving Day, but thanksgiving in its wider meaning.

Thanksgiving is a uniquely American holiday, but the idea of an annual celebration to thank God (whoever your god is) goes back to ancient times. Long before Thanksgiving Day originated in America, there were harvest festivals celebrated all around the world.  Those harvest festivals are much like Thanksgiving Day in their conception, they all thank a god for what they have.  Even now, all of us have something to be thankful for so why not take the opportunity and be thankful this week for all those little things that make our life worthwhile and bring a smile to our faces.

Some ideas for a Thanksgiving hubmob hub are:

    History of Thanksgiving day
    Thanksgiving celebrations in North America
    Thanksgiving celebrations in Canada
    Thanksgiving around the world
    Thanksgiving traditions
    Thanksgiving colouring pages
    Thanksgiving recipes
    Thanksgiving games
    Why thanksgiving day?
    Thanksgiving stories
    Your personal thanksgiving list
How to say thanks to those you love
    Myths about the first thanksgiving
    Ancient thanksgiving harvest festivals
Thanksgiving festivals in other countries: Sukkoth, Chung Ch'ui, Pongal, Erntedankfest

To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:

    1. YOU MUST START YOUR HUB CLICKING THIS LINK.  Choose the Answer the Request green button.  Choose the MAKE A HUB ABOUT IT option.

    2. Choose a relevant title for your Hub to get a good ranking in the search engines, AVOID starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"

    3. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub: http://hubpages.com/question/22693/hubm … ew&rss

    4. Add the HubMob graphic to your hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.

    5. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why.  Take advantage of the free publicity!

Hi, I live in Sabah, Malaysia, North Borneo. Though I am Chinese I live amongst local indigenous people who has a rich tradition of annual thanksgiving festival which is a community wide celebrations, different from the North American thanksgiving which is more family oriented.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, great topic and great holiday. Experienced Thanksgiving once when I stayed in California for 3 months. The festivities (and the sale) are really something. Hope I get enough material to write another hubmob for this one smile.

I agree Princessa, Shirley deserves the limelight this week, I for one can't imagine organizing 50 hubs.  Great Job, Shirley!

Thanksgiving, one of my favorite times of the year. This will be fun...

Thanks, MG!  It gets faster the more you do it. smile

Thank-you for the mention, Princessa.  You always choose great topics but wow, was last week a popular one!  We'll have lots of Hallowe'en content for the search engines to find.  Think I hear a cash register.  smile

I'll get all the late Hallowe'en entries into the second hub sometime today.

Hi, I love HubMob and this is my link :

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Chung-Chui-The- … g-Festival

I decided  to write about Chinese Thanksgiving because that is the only Thanksgiving tradition which is very close to me. I'm not 100% Chinese but I've inherited some Chinese blood so eat a moon cake on Chung Ch'ui day is common for me. Happy Thanksgiving!

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Thanksgiving-Special

It's about all my sister and I have to be thankful for, which is everything, but most of all each other.

Ah, Shirley, yet another one!  You're gonna get inundated, but that's a good thing, for people to love this holiday of giving thanks.

People love to say thank you--how about that?

That's okay, P7, bring it on.  I panicked last week but now I know what to do when a hub quits working - just make another one.

Yes, ain't it great that people love to show gratitude and appreciation?

    Thanksgiving Southern Family Feast

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Thanksgiving-So … mily-Feast

Thanksgiving Dinner was always a big deal growing up.  We always had a feast with all the aunts, uncles and cousins from my mom’s side of the family.  This meant dozens of relatives and tons of great food.  The women did all of the cooking, and let me tell you, my mom and all of my aunts are great cooks.  I’m going to share with you the traditional Southern Thanksgiving Feast that we always had at my house.

I love cooking for Thanksgiving and this was a nice way to organize my recipes.

I got so anxious to do the hub that I didn't answer the question first...does this mean my hub won't be in the rss feed?

    1. Princessa profile image77

Ups! I am so sorry Song-Bird... If you don't start your hub answering the question, the hub does NOT go in the RSS feed sad

But don't worry, you are here now and you wrote a great hub.  I am sure you will be more careful next time; because YES, I hope you come back to join the HubMob again smile
