Hello,
Just a general question on how long did it take all you guys and girls to get your first adsense check and how good a feeling was it?????????
It took me 6 months. But, it took me 4 months before I wrote my second hub. After getting serious only 2 months.
Hmmm......I am still waiting to reach that mark when they actually send a check......maybe I am writing about the wrong stuff....
And may I add to that question - when did you earn you first cent??? how long and how many hubs later.
Cheers
I just been paid today by Google!! But anyways it took several months to finally make payout.
How did you do that? I have been on three months and 43 hubs and over 3thousand and 5hundred visitors!
The trouble is that the visitors need to click the ads! And not all of them do. Plus hubpages counts your own visits to the hub in the stats, so the figure can be misleading
It took me almost 10 months; since then it has dropped to 3 months, then 2 months, and now 1 month between payouts...
Wow!!!!
It only took you 3 weeks to get your first cheeck.
How did u manage that???
I think visitmaniac means he got his cheque 3 weeks ago, as you will see under his avatar he joined 2 years ago
But was he active in those 2 years, he looks a lazy bugger to me
I have ads but i don't think I am counted. i'm still signing up for afiliates. I did get great information from hubpages however. It's good to see what others are doing. Thanks for the comments.
It took me 20 days to see my first pennies show up. Made 9 cents on my 20th day. Took me 10 months to reach the first payout. Took two months for the second payout. Now, starting with this month, I'm getting a monthly payout.
So your answer is 10 months lol, my old lady goes on and on as well
It was a two part question......LOL I like your old lady already.
I hate my old lady and I hate on here as I have made no money at all !
LOL Yeah, you'll start seeing the money roll in when they start paying for silly forum posts.
2 months then I sold my domain. Bad move - getting back into it now, yet to have my first payout
Just done the maths, I joined in October 2007, and received my first payout in May 2009, (in other words 19 months later). Just checked my adsense account for the first time since December 2008, and I am due another payout in November as I am up to $135 now. This means my second payout has taken only 6 months, so the timescales are definitely reducing. Not sure if they will payout the whole $135 in November, or just the threshold amount of $100, but if the latter I shall already be a third of the way to payout number three. Yippee!!!!!!!!
It took me 16 months to get my first check. by then I had only 50 hubs that could not generate adsense earning here at Hubpages, since then I have changed the way am writing and am seeing great difference
It took me eight months. After that I've made it each month (at least for now).
On hubpages, I reached payout early in my second month, and have made it every month since.
Hi Nelle Hoxie, great actually you did put alot of effort when you joined hubpages, that is the way to go. Put your all effort during your initial stage and you will see your result sooner than waiting for one year as I did
I have been on hubpages for about 7 days, with 9 hubs and I've made an astonding $2.84
So much also depends on what subjects you choose to write about. Many of my early hubs were more humorous than educational, and I am guessing pretty low earners therefore, (although I got loads of traffic from my Hubber friends).
It took me 9 months ....... but as I came along hubpages ..... every month now I am being paid .......
well done you, wont stop me suing you though, i am in a mess here ha ah
Wow, you mean to say you have actually earned over $100 dollars and been paid out in four weeks!!! That is stunning, it took me 19 months before I had the wonderful surprise of checking my bank account one day and realising I had been paid the equivalent in UK sterling of $100.
How did you do it???
If you want to make money I am afraid you have to write about things that people will search for. I have so many articles I would love to write about, but no one would want to read them. If you are writing poems or stories they tend not to make so much. I have tried to write hubs by the book of hubpages and found good earnings. It's not going to change my life, but it's a good start as I have not written anything in a while and still earning from doing nothing. I have not looked at any other ways yet as I wish to find my feet here first before I tackle harder ways.
WOW!!!!!!
Only 4 weeks is amazing
You have to share your secret lol
Were in the UK you from? I live in Wales
I'm from Bristol Uk. I think the secret is to read as many hubs as you can on keyword and SEO as this will give your hub the best chance of organic traffic. Lots of the hubs I read made no sense but a few gave me good advice which I stored. My niche is well sought after and reviews appear to work best as people always want a second opinion on things they wish to buy. Maybe I got lucky, but I think it is more in the planning of your hub.
I'm on track to do it in another week or two, I think. I've seen a significant jump in earnings over the past week, which I attribute to a lot of my hubs getting indexed and ranking up from my backlinks. I'm hoping to reach like 10-20 bucks a day from Adsense by February.
That is so incredible, you must share this in more detail so newbies can learn form you. My turnover is picking up nicely now, but the newbies often have so many questions, and expect a return really quickly with nothing much to go on in terms of immediate advice. I remember these days well, and never having written commercially before, the existing hubs were confusing, full of terms I didn't understand such as backlinks, SEO, Keywords, affiliates, etc.
At that point it was all I could do to get my head around capsules, Ebay and Amazon!!!
So far as I can tell, there's no secret formula or anything like that. Just make sure you write relevant content so Google picks the right ads. Other than that, I guess you should just focus on getting plenty of traffic. I'm getting like 400-600 page views* a day with a 1-5% click through rate.
*This pertains to my total page views. I only see, what, 60% of that? So Adsense will show like 250-400 views.
My game plan so far, however, has been to get the scores of my hubs up so I get a lot of internal traffic. It's not always the most relevant type, but it is useful. If your hubscore is above 80, there's a good chance you'll show up on all of the related hubs tabs on, well, related hubs. This can increase your traffic substantially, especially if you have a catchy title and a good picture.
Excellent advice Dalyinx, can I ask how you calculate your click through rate, as I am getting over 1100 viewings per day right now, but wouldn't have a clue as to what equation to use to come up with a "click through rate", or where to find the information required??? Thanks
It tells you on adsense under reports -> overview. It's called "Page CTR" and it should show a percent. You'll also see page eCPM, which indicates how much you're expected to make per thousand views. Anything above $2-3 is pretty good imo. I have some days that are under 2 and some that are as high as 20. It depends on my CTR and the price of the ads that get clicked.
Thanks Dalyinx, will look at that as I rarely check adsense, but might just take a look after your advice
Excellent, I just checked and my eCPM is the equivalent of $2.29 today, yesterday was the equivalent of $3.48
Thanks for the info
I still can not get the adsense going because I don't know where to put the code they gave. Do I suppose to add it in each of my page? But how?
Is that how you get pay for their google ads on your page?
On HubPages you don't need to put that code. That is in case you own a website/blog of your own. Here Hubpages will place optimized ads for you. You just need to enter your Adsense Publisher ID.
What is adsense again, I've read about it online but have not seen it, lol just kidding, 3months too long.
LOL dondata11, just caught me, off to bed in a min, 06.30 am here, and not been to bed yet!!!
You Asked this question 2 Days ago!
I find it strange that you haven't received your cheque yet!
Was it lost in the post?
Personally, I think there are so many more viable options out there, I'm on about $250 a week (after 5 weeks), hardly any of that is from AdSense and all the methods I use are free which is great.
Would you care to share your methods with is newbies?
I'm sill waiting to reach $100. By now, I'm making at least a little money every day, but nothing I am doing seems to get me tons of traffic. I've aded pictures, videos, backlinks have tinkered with the SEO terms ... and it's increased my traffic a little, and that's it. No amazing newbie stories from me here! Most of my hubs are about travel, which get great clicks when people actually click on the ads, but not a lot of traffic. I guess in this economy, people aren't traveling much. So I've given in and am now writing a few straight-out commercial hubs. I'm finally making Amazon money, so it's all good. I'm trying to make every other hub commercial and the rest something creative so I can vary it a little bit. I figure I'll reach my payout whenever I reach it!
7 Months for the 1st, 3 months for the 2nd, 2 months for the 3rd, 1 month for the 4th and but now it is every month.
18 months ...... too long ...... but now every month I earn $250
i dont believe anyone could get a payout from google in one week first time unless they already had a website that was getting extreme amount of traffick and they only just signed up to adsense, it took me over 5 months to get $100 off google first time,
well still waiting to get there and at this rate i guess i would make my 1st payout in i don't know 2 years???
I hardly get a click in adsense, mostly i only get 1 or 2 clicks a week.
september was good (9$) october not even 2$
I really want to pass the 1$ a day mark.
I have read on this tread that some people get 400-500 visitors a day per hub, or over 1000 overall a day, please share some secrets here, i am only getting a maximum of 10 per day per hub
I just wrote a hub on "Google Adwords Keyword Tool", and whilst I haven't utilised it in the past, coincidentally I have found a lot of my wording matches their recommendations for maximum cost per clicks and searches, (or pretty close at least). I won't post the link to my hub here for obvious reasons, but you will find it if you check out my profile. I really believe this will help you hugely, as it tells you which words and phrases to use on the subject you have chosen for your hub, in order to maximise the rate of pay per click.
PS. Let's not forget it took me 19 months to get my first Adsense payout, but I am due another one now only 6 months later. The gaps between payouts can drop pretty dramatically once the ball starts rolling!
That's so encouraging to hear. But I also see that you have over 150 hubs so part of getting money each month is to continuously write hubs. It's all about persistence.
Absolutely, but once you get to a certain point you will get payouts whether you write or not! I am still trying to achieve this, and then hope to simply be able to up the rate of pay per month by continuing to write more, however there are people here on hubpages who have already achieved this level if you ask around, so my advice is, keep writing, use the Adwords tool I suggested, and don't give up. Your first Adsense payout will give you a renewed sense of enthusiasm I promise
I cant remember, but I have made about $250 since publishing my first hub just over 4 months ago. Yesterday I had my biggest day, with $10 of adsense.... which is great. I would like to achieve $10 per day here on hubpages, and a similar amount on a couple of other sites that interest me. That would be a decent second income when a 7 day week is taken into consideration.
Woot! I reached the payment threshold last night. I've been here a year but didn't start taking it seriously until the 30 in 30 challenge that I took in August of this year. In fact, I only published about 10 hubs in my first 4 months here.
It has taken a little over a year to build up to my first $100 with a combination of blogs and hubs. I am hoping that since I setup a direct payment to my bank account, the payment should come through at the beginning of December.
I just hit 100.06 tonight after a year!
they don't pay until the end of the next month?
anyone have more info on this?
Congratulations on your first payout. The amount you make by the 30th of this month will be sent to you in the last week of January.
I am awaiting my first check from google. It took my 10 months from my blog. I just joined hub pages today so I am looking forward to getting my google check on a more consistant basis.
So far I have made $2.00 in 4 days, so my check is still far away, but I just enjoy writing on hubpages. there are a lot of great people here.
I have registered for adsense account 1 month ago. At the time of registration they told me that my application will be accepted after my site is active for at least 6 months. Does it really mean that i have to wait at least 6 months to have my first payout?
Think I need to start getting more views on my pages.
If anyone wants to be a star and drop me some hint I would like that very much.
My first payout came 7 months after i started on HP. I haven't collected though because its nice just seeeing it grow. Verified my PIN with google adsense but yet to verify the phone number, so my money still with google adsense. But i've been reaching payout every month now it seems.
(keeping fingers Xed and knocking on wood )
My next goal is to make about £5 per day but when i'll acheive this, i haven't a clue.
But its all thanks to my participation in the hubchallenges. On my 3rd challenge now.
I strongly recommend this for newbies. I caught on a bit late 'cause i wasn't even aware of the forums for my first few months, but the day i discovered the forums was the day i started to learn better ways of achieving success with hub writing. I lapped up every little bit of info from everyone. Never looked back since.
However, still struggling with backlinks. I don't have any yet.
Same here! I hope some old-timers will come and help us soon.
My target is 6 months. I've been here roughly 3 weeks but I'm trying to churn out some decent content a search engine will find.
6 months feels like an optimistic goal, but hopefully one I can make.
It took me two years to get a payout. Not a really good batting record there, I'm afraid! I made my first Amazon payout before Adsense, in fact. I've noticed an increase in clicks lately and I hope it improves. The fact of the matter is that I wasn't writing on topics that would get the clicks. So, this is my fault entirely.
I'm now making an effort to rectify this using a different account, but it's early days there. But it's been fun doing the research on what people want to read, gathering data on what people are paying for clicks and where there are high bids per click and little competition. My problem has been time. which is the reason I have been so inactive on this account and haven't had time to build up articles on the other one. I need at least 100 to test this theory, and I have a total of 4. A payout evey month would be fantastic!
My are up for 10 days today and i got an avreges as folow
Page impressions Clicks Page CTR Page eCPM [?]
64 3 5.44% $72.31
Jist wondering if it's way out of normal?
This is quite normal in case you are getting organic/targeted traffic.
I believe you made $4.62 from 3 clicks which is a good average.
I'm still at 0.00
I just started. Looking forward to start seeing some results. Need motivation.
don't worry. i'm stuck at 0.00 too. god knows how i'm going to get to 100. sad.

share here how many months you take to get your first adsense or amazon cheque and also how much you earned with your first cheque.
by Elisabeth Sowerbutts 15 years ago
Yeah - I made it - its taken 14 months but Adsense now owes me $102.17 and having reached the $100 threshold will pay out this month :-) :-o Yeah! I first put Adsense on my own site /blog in Feb 07. In Sept 07 I joined Hubpages and to date my hubpage Adsens earnings have equated to >50% of...

How long did it take to get the $50 payout on AdSense?
by Ante Rajic 11 years ago
Hi everyone, I just browsed through some topics on forum because I needed help. I joined Hubpages 11 months ago, and I have about 40 Hubs, my overall ratings are $5 on Adsense and about $15 on Ad program til now. Now I wanted to ask you when did you received your first payout from one of these,...
by tamron 12 years ago
I only have $5 to go to reach payout for the first time. It took 2 years but I really don't count the first year because I only had 5 hubs that sat for a year so I figured it took about 1 year to reach payout. Is it true after your first payout your next payout comes quicker?
by Rahul Parashar 10 years ago
I was wondering how much people actually earn on HubPages through HubPages ads program? Does it produces better results than AdSense? How much hubs and tgime does it take to start earning? Yeah, I know, so many questions, but I really need to know the answers. Thanks in advance for answering it.
