I hope this doesn't come off as insensetive. I have been reading this every day, and I was thinking maybe some people dont reply simply because they dont want to "toot thier own horn" so to speak. Perhaps they read it, wrote down the address, and wanted to quietly send him a card wihtout recognition? Also, Noha's story is very sad, but there are kids dying all the time. Wouldnt it be nice to make an effort of some sort, like this one, to reach more then one child? I am sure things exist, but im not all that sure how one finds out about it?

    1. profile image0
Pacal Votanposted 14 years agoin reply to this

That's why we do this. To make people aware.

I'd like to know who started all this and if Noah and his family are happy with the publicity at all.

I think that when we think of Noah we do think of every suffering child. I do. But I don't know how to do any more than this. If I could reach out to them I would probably be speechless. I would take a person much wiser than me to know what to say. I've been trying to write a hub for Noah, but it's hard to convey these feelings in words.

      1. profile image0
Justine76posted 14 years agoin reply to this

so its not just me? I know everyone here cares. But I was just thinking, I have lots of free time, I would like to be more actively invloved in things and I didn't know if anyone knew where to start? I think Noha's parents and family friends started promoting his wish thru email then it ended up here.  Like I said earlier, what should have been obvious to me but wasnt...Luciendasky suggesetd checking out the local hospital. Thanks agian for the tip. smile

ledefensetechposted 14 years agoin reply to this

This is how such things happen.  This started because someone heard about Noah's story and decided to do something about it.  If you feel so strongly about doing things for other kids, then do something about it.

      1. profile image0
Justine76posted 14 years agoin reply to this

what I meant was, how do you find out about the kids in the first place? Somebody knew about Noah, adn started writing. Tha is ownderful. If I knew aobut anyone, I would definately do something. Luciendnasky gave some helpful tips and links. Thank you for your advice.

          Check out Care Pages:  http://www.carepages.com/learn

It's a site that allows you to put up a page dedicated to a loved one or share stories with other people.  That, incidentally, is where Noah's mom posts her updates on how he's doing.  I'm sure there are dozens of websites similar in nature to Care Pages all over the Net.  It just takes a little detective work and a small amount of determination to find these resources.

smile Thank you for thinking of other children as well... in one of my hubs about Noah I give a link to a website created for another little boy with neuroblastoma... (you don't have to read it. I will post the link for you so, I don't want to advertise myself - I want to advertise Noah)

Anyways, this little boy, Chase has battled neuroblstoma for two years as well, and on his site there is a place where you can donate to neuroblastoma research.

      Here is the link: http://www.chaseafteracure.com/index.html

Also, Noah's family has said that in lieu of sending him presents for Christmas, if you want to send $1 they will donate it to University of Mich research center for neuroblastoma

If you want a way to help more than Noah, there is a great resource right there...

Also, contact your local hospital or a children's clinic to see if there is anything else you can do... many cancer units will accept hats (I am a knitter and have donated myself) that they give to patients as they leave the hospital.

I hope that many people have wrote down the address and sent the card (whether they told us or not), and we will keep this near the top so that more people will be able to see it and send a card smile
