   Why did you start your first hub? Passion or purpose? What keeps you on Hubpages?
   
   I would like to know how many people started a hub on purpose vs just blogged about there passion and fell into it.

   I would say "purpose". As I said in one of my hubs and on my profile, writing helps me to learn. Talking about my first hub, it was a reply to some behaviors, I wasn't heard there where the reply had to be given, so I searched for a place where my voice can be heard. But as I wanted it to be read, I didn't publish it 1st until being sure that I am in the right place. And I was right, until now this hub is the most viewed in my hubs collection and was chosen as a HubNugget.

      @forall.  Thank for your input.  I appreciate you clearly defining purpose as your reason for the hub.  Your perspective has helped hone my opinion that purpose has more impact for blogs than passion.  Again I thank you for your input.

   My very first hub published was a very personal article I wrote for Brainwave the Irish Epilepsy Association. I was introduced to Hubpages through a friend and it has been a mix if honest between Passion and Purpose. I really enjoy writing and wanted to see if I could write on subjects that others would enjoy reading and also to see if it would generated an income long term. As I am moving abroad, I feel it is an ideal opportunity to start this new venture in online writing before I move and learn as much as possible.

      @Suzie HQ I'm amazed at your perspective.  In fact its similar to mine.  I started with a mixed perspective.  But I'm thankful for the purpose driven life that allows me to continue this for the benefit of connecting with and helping others.

   OMG! I forget the reason I start my first hub. However, hubpages is a nice and friendly place to contact with people from all over the world.

      @iefox5  I will do you 1 better.  I forgot I started this hub for 3 years.  I didn't touch it at all.  I think I started with and intention but the passion faded and I forgot about it.  I came back when I realized the value of hubpage community
