Hello everyone, I am a bit late this week, still shocked by the news of Ryan leaving HubPages. As you might know, the HubMob was an initiative started by Ryan Hupfer to support Hubbers and of course to have fun Hubbing together about the same topic every week. Do not forget to pop in the forum thread to say goodbye to our Hup and wish him all the best on his new project!
Like every week, I'd like to thank all of the HubMobsters who took part in last week's New Year around the World HubMob. It was great to discover new traditions and ways to celebrate New Year.
The holidays are approaching, winter holidays for some of us and summer holidays for others. But whether it is a summer or winter break that you are looking forwards to, we all share one concern: Transportation. Some of us will be travelling abroad to spend Christmas in the sun, while others will be opting for snow breaks but we are all going to be travelling, whether it is by plane, train, car, bus or boat. Even those of you who are staying at home will be facing a sudden surcharge of highways and public transport on your everyday routine as holiday shopping takes over the season. This is the week to write all about transport; private, public, ecological, luxurious or economical.
Some ideas for a HubMob hub on Transportation are:
Boats & Ships
Driving Licenses & Permits
High Speed Trains
Regulations & Restrictions
Roads & Highways
Transportation around the world
Underground & Subway
To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:
1. YOU MUST START YOUR HUB CLICKING THIS LINK. Choose the Answer the Request green button. Choose the MAKE A HUB ABOUT IT option.
2. Choose a relevant title for your Hub to get a good ranking in the search engines, AVOID starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"
3. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub: http://hubpages.com/question/27475/hubm … ew&rss
4. Add the HubMob graphic to your hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.
5. If necessary, change the category for your hub.
6. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why. Take advantage of the free publicity!
Thanks Princessa - Was hoping to be first but with our time difference will not make it - its past midnight and I have a lot of info to sift through. Good topic (as usual). Thanks for the hard work to keep us busy
Sorry Laura - I was just publishing mine when I flicked over to see your message.
You are welcome Laura. It looks like we share a similar time... it was MY night time too when I posted the topic for the week sorry I couldn' do it earlier. I promise to be on time next week
This is an excellent topic and I have just published a hubmob about the scary, but outstandingly beautiful bus trip between Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang in Laos.
Here it is and I hope you enjoy it:
I'm hoping to write some more for this hubMob!
This one is a good, fun topic!

It is good for those who need to travel for Christmas and for vacation.
great topic (as usual). problem is, my mind is blank right now for a hub to write under this hubmob . Oh well, maybe I'll get inspiration later. Thanks Princessa.

It is a tough topic this week. Does not lend creativity wings.
It is a difficult one but the HubMob hubs submitted this week are already doing great so it is worth the effort. Have a look at the Transportation in Society category page http://hubpages.com/topics/politics-and … ation/4953
Our HubMobsters are already featured writers for this category!
Well done ethel smith, Patty Inglish, RedElf, travelespresso, chenmikehk and creation75.
Here's my second hub for this hubmob. A 1940's DC3 aircraft restored by enthusiasts offers a unique view as it flies low over Auckland City. This is flying as it used to be!
I hope you enjoy reading it.
I notice that quite a few hubmob hubs this week do not include the RSS feed. In all fairness I think this should be compulsory as this is the whole idea of Hubmob hubs as opposed to stand-alone hubs (so that all the hubs get extra exposure)
Hello Laura...I read your message and was sure I wasn't one of the "offending" hubs but when I checked them - to my surprise I was! I have found the feeds quite unstable. I had them working on both hubs earlier but then after making a couple of minor adjustments they weren't working again! Don't know quite what I am doing as this is very new to me but a second ago they were both working. Thank you so much for drawing my attention to it.
I cant seem to get my RSS feed to hold. . when I test it . . it is ok but I have gone back and in and out and over and out. . and still once I check after I hit dont editing it says Rss does not seem to be valid!!!!
H e l p!
Highlight the RSS link on the first post. Right click on your mouse and select "Copy link location" and then paste in your RSS feed capsule. (make sure you have selected an RSS feed capsule and not a link capsule)
Hope you get it right as this is the whole idea of the hubmob hubs.
Yes...I had all sorts of problems with mine earlier too. They were working and then not! I answered a request earlier in this thread (page 2) as another option to try. Hope you get it working.
Here's another HubMob from me!
I am so excited I've managed three transportation hubs this week! This unravels some of the word mysteries in sailing - knowing your sheets, hatches, head, knots and more will help when on board.
I hope you enjoy reading it.
Coming from South Africa I have done a hub about the ferry to the notorious Robben Island, home to Nelson Mandela as a political prisoner for many years.

Hi Everyone. This is my first time ever trying to create a hub for HubMob Weekly. Wow! I had to pick transportation! But I was determine to create a good hub for it. So, here goes ...
Living in the Chicago area, public transportation can be a pain in my ... back! With less people riding the buses, fares are increasing, service is poor, and the schedule is a mess. It could be much better if more people rode public transit in place of driving their personal cars to work. But how to accomplish this is an elusive target. So I figured I would put out my ideas on How to get more people to ride public transportation, to inspire other to take note and help to change the system.
I hope I have done this right. I'm not sure if I included the HubMob RSS Feed correctly. If someone could check and let me know, I would appreciate it.
Well done on your first hubmob. It is excellent.
Your RSS feed isn't working. I've had a challenging time getting mine to work too. I copied the URL given with the hubmob instructions and pasted it into a new browser and then copied and pasted it again into the RSS feed. That seems to work better for me. Good luck.
A must do if ever you are in Cape Town :

For this week's HubMob, I have decided to cover a topic that is truly close to many people's hearts - their pets. I have never really been a pet owner, but as I meet more and more people I realize the huge role that they play in the lives of others around me. So, this HubMob is basically a way for...
