Website got over 1000+ visitors from them so far this April, year 2018. Not one ad click. No wonder the advertisers don't like social media visitors!

Am dropping all my FB endeavors. Already dumped Twitter.

It was my website, where Analytics and AdSense tells all.

Have you considered placing posts in key niche FB groups?

Yep, that's where I got the 1000+ visitors from; but nary an ad click. Just not worth the time, labor, stress.

I post links to my stuff in a fair number of FB groups for music/movie nerds but it's a crap shoot. Sometimes I'll get a few hundred extra views in a day out of it, other days... (sad trombone sound).

Social media hits never ever results in much by the way of earnings. In fact, it can be damaging, because they tend to click away just as quickly.
I never share to social media these days.
      But I do engage.
Social media is a fantastic platform for information sharing and it'll be a sorry day when hashtags like 'deleteFacebook' win the day.

You are right. I'm not closing the account. I'm just quitting being proactive on it.

I think it depends on how. I don't get anything when I post to specialty groups or pages, but I get a lot from my page.  It's also niche; everything focuses on Oklahoma, so people that like that page are specifically looking for the types of articles I have.
