Writers being hired to write hubs

    I just happened across a job site for freelance writers where the following is being offered:

    "So, I need experienced writers to write articles for hubpages at rate of 1$ per 500 words. Only articles approved by hubpages will be paid so I want writers who have at least 20-30 approved articles on their hubpage account."

    The employer is located in India.

    There's nothing wrong with this, I suppose. I just never knew that writers were being hired to write here. The ad said bidding on this job closes in 6 days. There was already one bidder. So, if you'd like to write on HubPages for $1 per 500 words, you'd better hurry!

      I, unfortunately, do not meet the high standards required. I don't have 20 - 30 hubs. Do you think unpublished hubs count? I am sure HP will approve them.

    Sad. It points out how the trade I have practiced for half a century has been degraded by the Internet. Good grief, $0.02 cents a word. What a gigantic insult to anyone who considers themselves a professional writer.

    Back in the day, I expected to be paid a dollar a word although I didn't always achieve my expectations. Even as a cash-strapped editor/publisher I paid my writers 75 cents a word.

    Writing. it seems, is so easy today; all you have to do is type out words.
