Hi Hubbers,
I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve? Thanks!
Jennifer Lynch
Here is my article: She Dances Well – the Story so Far!
Hi Jennifer,
There are several issues with your article that may be preventing it from passing QAP.
First of all, the title. It doesn't really tell the reader what the article is about. Further, no-one is searching for that keyphrase.
The bio on the article should reflect the content. It could be seen as a overly promotional. That information ought to be on your HP bio, but not on an article about dancing.
The content reads like a blog post or memoir. HubPages is looking for informative, magazine-type articles that rank well in the search engines. Include your own experience, by all means but it needs to be expanded outwards to be relevant to other people.
Remove the random looking link to Worldance. If it's a legitimate reference, place it at the bottom of the article. Same with the other links.
Your paragraphs are too long. Remember that most people are reading on their phones these days, so text needs to be broken up into manageable chunks. One paragraph = one idea.
Remove the Amazon capsule. The product is nothing to do with the content. Your article is not about dance shoes.
Subtitles: you've used the word 'dance' several times, this literally is a waste of valuable space. Use fully formed, properly capitalised subtitles. They are an opportunity to add extra searchable terms.
Use bullet points for lists. It makes the text easier to read.
So, suggestions: more information, perhaps about how to take up dancing as a hobby. Remember that you are writing for a global audience. Clean up the formatting. Read other articles on HP about dancing.
This account: https://hubpages.com/@marisawright has a ton of dance articles, plus a lot of information about writing for HP. I highly recommend you browse some of 'Marisa's' articles. She has left now but the account is still active.
Hi Bev
Thank you, I can make the alterations. The article is about self-belief and mental health and my experience of that. I do understand your points though and I will make some changes.
Many thanks
Jennifer
