I need help - Can someone please explain what is "too sexually explicit" on the list below. One of my hubs has been shut down.
Need Help!
Title- "Butt Naked Ice Swimming"
No links to adult sites that I'm aware of.
Reviewed all videos and everyone is clothed!
1st picture - A couple with backs turned in water up to their butts with stocking caps only.
2nd picture - A distance (far off) picture of two men, backs turned fully nude.
3rd picture - A side view of a lady wearing a bra and bikini thong.
I might add that I've seen pictures revealing so much more, however, what would have gotten my hub shutdown?
Thx
'A distance (far off) picture of two men, backs turned fully nude.'
I think full nudity is not allowed
Ask HP team and published it again. Maybe with another pics ?
Logic I told you we shouldn't have posed for that hub.
LOL, Ssshhhhh Blondepoet, now everyone knows
Thanks for everyones help on this one the hub has now been republished!
why are you asking us? if the Hubteam shut down your hub or hubs, they had a good reason in their mind, right?
Hi cosette,
The e-mail was not specific as to what the exact problem was and it said that I could post a question in the forum.
oh really? that surprises me. i would definitely want to know why myself. sorry about that. in that case, i will go take a look at your hubs.
edited to add: sorry about that. as you said, they shut down your hub, so i couldn't see it. in any case, it probably was the fully nude men that did it. i agree with DS, just do some careful cropping and see if they will republish it.
Thanks for the offer cosette, but it is still unpublished. I wanted to make sure that I made all necessary corrections prior to attempting to republishing it.
Here's what the e-mail say:
Your Hub has been flagged by our system as a violation of our Terms of Use.
Adult – Nudity, sexually explicit or profane content and/or links to adult/pornography sites
There's nothing sexually explicit, and no profanity. So that leaves the pictures I described. I'm going to take everyone's advice and changed those. And there is one link that is a page full of links to other sites, maybe I'll remove that as well.
so it was flagged?
boo.
i'm always amazed that people have nothing better to do than rat out their fellow hubbers.
Cosette, the email says flagged BY OUR SYSTEM. Emails from the HubPages team never refer to flagging by another Hubber.
I'm wondering if it was the title. Remember HubPages sets the rules to meet Adsense requirements and they dislike certain words, too. Maybe "butt naked" is one of them?
Hi Marisa, I missed this one previously! When the hub was up it had ads for swimming and Workout gyms there was nothing indicating that anything was inappropriate with what was written.
However, I've resubmitted the hub alone with sending an e-mail request that if the changes that I made were not satisfactory to please provide a more specific e-mail detailing what needed to be changed! So we will see! I will definite let everyone know if its the words "butt naked", if that's the case there should be a lot of editing going on.
Take a 2nd look at the photo's and crop them if necessary to remove any nudity and maybe change the title to something like Polar Dipping? lol
fully nude is a no-no but if you e-mail the team they will provide you with a perfectly clear explanation and once corrected may possibly allow you to publish it again.
Thanks tantrum and Dame Scribe for your suggestions and insight!
Oh well cosette, you know how that goes
I'm going to make those changes and see what happen! Hopefully I'll be back with good news
Thanks for everyone's help!
Also, if necessary, add a little 'blackout' square thingy like on t.v. lol
Good Idea! I'll remember that for the future!
Actually, Money, I did catch a glimpse of that hub of yours (I think I even tried leaving a comment, but I don't suppose you got it?). I thought it was very tastefully done, the pics were completely relevant to your topic and hardly seemed 'profane' in any way. But I guess, it's HP team that makes the final decisions and they must have reasons for them, so it leaves you with little choice but to abide by them. Just wanted to let you know it was a well done hub in any case!
Thanks MOW! I'm glad to hear from someone who saw the hub in it's original form! Several of my hubber fans had read it and no one mentioned it was over the top! However, like you said HP rules
just make it work within the rules, and republish it! You have plenty of brilliant hubs...a little tweaking here and there will not make this one any less I'm sure! Sending you a warm smile...
I agree MOW, I only posted this question to make sure to get it right so that it can be republished. You know me I'm not the ranting type
if hub pages shut you down they just don't like what you wrote..
It's a little more complicated than that Mamelody! There was no profanity and no sexually explicit words in my writing. And I don't think I would have an overall hubscore of 95 if HP did not like my writing! But, thanks for commenting...
I read the hub before it was shut down. One photo had 2 men, at a distance, butt cracks showing. I find it difficult to believe that if an actual person, like a HubPages staff member looked at the hub, that there was anything at all offensive about the hub.
Thanks RM, I took that picture off, cropped off the "cracks" of the couple in the water and resubmitted. So we will see what it said after it is reviewed
An occasional rant here and there is good for us sometimes!! ((hugs))
Dang, I didn't know it was that sensitive. I hope my Hub about Green Poop doesn't get shut down
LOL, How funny, you're kidding right. If not, I've got to quickly go and see that one
You never know. One Hubber had Adsense ads disappear off her Hubs because she used the word "potty".
Losing the ads is a bad sign, because if Google removes the ads, they don't like the subject - and that means you're risking your Adsense account.
I still reckon it's the title.
How about Butt Neckid, Birthday Suit, or Insanely Lacking in Clothes?
LOL, I'm waiting for a response from the HP Team to avoid having to redo the hub all over again. But all the suggestions have been fully noted and will be taken in to consideration since they all still indicate the same thing.
"A distance (far off) picture of two men, backs turned fully nude."
Emphasis on your words "fully nude" here.
Since YOU consider the two men to be fully nude, why would others not consider them the same way? You've answered your own question.

My friend and fellow hubber found a hub that was very adult with nudity in it. I am just curious, I thought in the TOS that it said nudity was not allowed here at Hubpages.

For adult content? Really? There is no nudity at all in that Hub. I respectfully request that the restriction be lifted. All the images were found on the web in spite of strict filters being imposed upon my search. There is nothing in that hub that anyone couldn't see on a magazine rack in the...

on December 10, I retitled my Christmas Challenge hubs. they were titled:On the 1st Day of Christmason the 2nd Day of Christmasetc. all the way up to my current one, #9.then I decided to tweak them, as "on the 1st day", etc. seemed tedious, and I started titling them like this:GIFTS:...

When our hubs were once chosen, we had a way to see what was supposed to be fixed before it appeared on a niche site. Now I don't see anything like that. It could be me, but there was a way to see what they wanted added or deleted. It's very frustrating. Yesterday I was told my hub on Zeus, the...

I have just written a hub last night, about a singer, who has never been written about before, apart from on her own YouTube site, and I have been wacked with a duplicate warning and unpublished!!! How on earth can it be duplicate when the whole hub came out of my brain? On top of this it says it...

I would like to know what they consider adult content. I do not have a hub with adult content on it. For those of you who have read my hubs, did you notice anything to be considered adult oriented? As in claims of nudity? I had a couple cartoons on my camping hub, but that stuff can be seen on any...
