My friend and fellow hubber found a hub that was very adult with nudity in it. I am just curious, I thought in the TOS that it said nudity was not allowed here at Hubpages.
Just flag it. The envelope keeps being pushed here...but if we keep flagging things will stay clean.
What do you have against nudity?

Okay if this hub seems innocent then I will never mention it again.
Or maybe the hubpages team is recovering from a long weekend.
Isn't a shame that can't be a common ground in the middle somewhere? The porn people....ya can't even give em an inch.
I have good judgment and the statue is beautiful. However, images taken from a site that says you have to be 18 to click on it, sort of a no no. I am an intelligent lady .
I agree with you on that. There is nudity and there is porn. Not all nudity is pornographic.
I agree with you Ralph. Just the images I saw from that hub were from badtushy.com, which is not kid friendly. Or even family friendly.
Guess I should have said porn and not nudity. However, I was just worried about people that have children and what would they say if their children saw that, etc.
For the purposes of Hubpages as I understand it, even though a registered member of Hubpages has to be 18, adult content is a no-no. This means no T&A, no graphic talk of a sexual nature, etcetera.
Now, keeping in mind that some Hubbers allow their children to create hubs, and that anyone can read hubs whether they are registered or not, it falls on the Hubber themselves to be the first line of proper behavior and control. If a Hubber does not control themselves, then by all means flag away!
Hubpages took care of that hub, but thanks for the input everyone.

I flagged one that had graphic instructions on how to use a condom. I wasn't sure if it would be accepted since it was drawings and not photographs.
Great idea, we wouldn't want people knowing how to use a condom correctly!
Being that it was drawings this is a case of political correctness gone mad.
I was thinking the same thing. I guess everyone should already know how to use a condom right, your parents taught you, maybe your teacher taught you, maybe your first girl/boy friend taught you.
Some schools and parents aren't as open minded unfortunately, especially in other parts of the world, some people have to learn on the internet...
It is actually quite common for people to misuse a condom, you can put them on inside out, there should be a gap at the tip etc etc...
Just seems like an over reaction in my opinion.
Thanks SweetiePie -
I too was offended by the same hub. I gave it a thumbs down. I figured this was okay with HP or they would have banned it already. I thought that a thumbs down was the only way that I could speak.
I should have flagged it though too....
I am always sad when the hot hubs have seemingly much adult content, that I personally feel crosses the line from tasteful to offensive. I am still not sure of where the line for HP is though?
Titles seem to have become very sensational as well. I realize that my opinions are much different than some others, but I do feel that I can be objective and judge that which is not tasteful overall. Saying that, HP should be a place for many voices.
I truly hope that HP will remain a place for providing credible knowledge and not sensational smut as information for their readers. It would be ashame if HP became a place we wouldn't want to refer our family members too, you know? Not that we are a necessarily a 'family' site -- I understand this.
There are enough websites out there providing distasteful to the general public kinds of information.
Keep the bar high HP and this website will do very very well - as a source of both credible information and that which is relevant to a wide audience of readers.
Generally, so far - so good.

I trust your judement LdsNana. Thanks for pointing these things out . You are a great hubber!
Thanks SweetiePie. I really appreciate your saying that. It is so far from my desire to offend any here. Thank you, for speaking up.
Kathryn
Hi SweetiePie,
I found out that you can flag an offensive hub, but not a profile. I found one last week that had a very graphic picture in the profile, and found out that you have to send the link to team@hubpages.com, they can take care of offensive profiles.. If it's only the hub itself that is graphic, just flag it.
Trish
Honestly I had never flagged anything before two days ago. I do not go looking to flag because I am focused on what I am doing, but I did flag the hub in question. Hubpages took care of it and I am glad for that. Thanks for sharing Trish.
Oh wow somebody made one about next door nikki. Great job dark side!
You're welcome. I don't go looking for those types either, it's just through scrolling that I come across them.
I did not think you did Trish . I appreciated the advice. I was just clarifying because yesterday because my feelings got hurt when someone implied I was a prude and had an odd defintion of what is offensive. It is okay now, I am just learning not to take what they say seriously.
Nobody said you were a prude.
Misha said that you may have a different definition of nudity than HP.
Sheesh.
Yes, but is HubPages the place to learn how to use a condom? I don't think it was necessary to have about 4 drawings of an erect penis. I didn't see it as "political correctness". And, I did have second thoughts about flagging it since it was drawings. Anyway, HubPages will make the ultimate decision.
LOL Just for change: http://hubpages.com/hub/condomfashion
Those are incredible dresses made out of condoms. As an artist, I just have to really really appreciate the creativity..lol...
I told my husband and he just didn't get it- I told him honey you've got to see these dresses...lol!!!
Maybe he will buy me one...hahahahaha.........
You could say that about just about every post here. Is it the best place to learn about internet marketing, traveling, relationships, etc. and yet people still post these Hubs. I didn't realize Hub Pages was a family, read:censorship excusing, site. I mean if you read the title of the hub and it says how to use a condom you still have to click it to go there, it's hard to argue that you didn't know what to expect. I mean I'm not against it but I would understand your hesitations to a Hub solely about porngraphy, but the use of a condom! Je ne suis pas d'accord!
Ok, so the consensus is that I made a mistake flagging this hub. Can we please move on?
Well, this is a public forum.
Every new guy or gal stumbled upon your post and feeling strong about it will feel an urge to declare their own position to the community... Just let it go, you can't really do anything about it... we all know you are cool, and this is what matters

For adult content? Really? There is no nudity at all in that Hub. I respectfully request that the restriction be lifted. All the images were found on the web in spite of strict filters being imposed upon my search. There is nothing in that hub that anyone couldn't see on a magazine rack in the...

I have one art tutorial which was fine on Squidoo for 3+ years, but I'm wondering if it will be acceptable on HubPages because it features classical painting artistic nudity. It is a tutorial based around reproducing an old master painting, by Titian, talking about the grisaille technique. The...

I would like to know what they consider adult content. I do not have a hub with adult content on it. For those of you who have read my hubs, did you notice anything to be considered adult oriented? As in claims of nudity? I had a couple cartoons on my camping hub, but that stuff can be seen on any...

Hi hubbers,I just published a hub Submissive Women vs. Dominant Women which has more to do with the roles of women in society and less to do sexual dominance or submission. However, Google is currently unable to see the distinction, and I am not getting AdSense ads.Suggestions on how I can change...

I can see a lot of hubs on the same subject that I am writing about and they haven't been flagged as adult content. There are hubs on sex and male enlargement, so why is mine being flagged, at first I was flagged for overly promotion and I fixed that, now another flag for adult content??? COMMON! I...
