For several weeks there has been a ridiculous blather going on about how Trump did or did not win the U.S. election. It's full of the usual diatribes, misinformation, and personal insults that are the fodder on which these topics feed.

I've clicked on the "Hide this story" button countless times but it keeps coming back like a bad smell. Is there some other way of blocking this nonsense? Or, can it be tossed into the topical forums where all the other similar rubbish lives.

I find this a bit puzzling. For me, the posts that you describe do appear in the topical forums. I agree about their nature (at least with respect to some of them), but they are in the right place on my laptop and my iPad.

Are you talking about your 'Feed'?

So, it's my inability to understand how these things operate, nothing new there. I'll just have to keep hitting the "hide this s**t button."

Mr. Rupert, you probably don't think Potus is a type of a demi-god. And you don't believe in a god, d'you? That's why it's happening that way.                         As for me, I'm on holiday about who wins or not about the election, as the God of America refused to grant my prayers for a woman president.

Miebakagh. Why bring up my stance on religion; it's completely irrelevant to the matter under discussion.

tsmog. I don't understand what you mean my 'Feed.'

Your feed is where daily articles & forum posts are shown changing as new ones post. It is your account main page. It is mainly governed by feed settings, people you follow, articles you follow and forum topics you follow. Where you are requesting to hide a post you can select feed settings and make changes there. I hope that helps.

Thanks tsmog. The feed is where we are now chatting and the same place where this pesky thread keeps appearing. I have fiddled with settings but to no avail. I will simply scroll through the annoyances, content in the knowledge the protagonists will grow tired of insulting each other and move on to other matters.

You can see this on your feed, and in the Forums. If you click the big "HubPages" a the top of the page, that's your feed. Your feed shows forum posts and also new hubs and comments from people and topics you follow. If you click the three lines at the top left of the page, and go down to "Forums," that's Forum only.

Go here instead. You'll see all the posts listed on the right, including this one. You won't see any political ones unless someone sneaks one in, but it's very rare.

I never look at my feed. I have the above link bookmarked.

Rupert, the word demi-god is social as well as pollical. It has not much to do with religion. Much thanks.
