      Thank you for posting this, Peggy. I was pleased to be able to revisit Leeds Castle after such a long time. The Castle Trust has done a good job maintaining and improving the castle and its grounds.

      I've never been to a castle. This beautifully photographed, well-written docutour took me on a journey to places I've only seen in books.

      Beautiful castle and enjoyed the tour you with your Hub.  One of these days we would like to visit the UK - I have flown over it a number of times but have never had the opportunity to see it on land.  Great Hub I enjoyed it and hope to visit England some day.

   Leeds Castle is certainly impressive, and your beautiful photos highlight it very well, Liz. I have never had the opportunity to visit a castle so I can’t compare it to others, but from your article it would be difficult not to class it as one of the most beautiful.

      Thank you for your kind comments, John. Some of our children used to complain when we fitted a castle visit into family holidays. But we find them interesting to look around, although admission prices have risen steeply since my youth.

   I enjoyed reading your article and looking at your terrific photos.
   I can only imagine through your work ...but castles seem amazing.
   
   I think I have always loved them or been intrigued by them.
   
   It is surrounded by water.
   
   It sounds lovely, but a bit different after you returned.   Nothing looks the same when we return after seeing it at a young age.
   
   Sorry to hear your aunt & uncle had passed before your visit.
   
   Those memories will live on though.

      Thank you for taking the time to read and comment about my article on Leeds Castle. One of the great things about Hub Pages is that I can use my photos as well as writing. I take a lot, but at least now I have a good reason for doing so.
      I think water around a castle adds a lot to the impression of being a place of safety, away from the land. It is an added barrier to potential enemies. It also enhances photos when you can get the reflection in the water.
      Memories can get a little distorted and confused over time.
      As a child you don't imagine a time when the older generation are gone. But it comes around quicker than we expect and suddenly we are the older generation. I wish I had more photos from that time.
