Hello everyone
I posted a status update on HP today, and Gianella and Stephen Tomkinson responded. Both responses were extremely helpful. But I really liked Steve's (Stephen Tomkinson) suggestion.
My status was "My HP feed is jam-packed with stressful issues! Seriously, I want to run away from here. Those happy times are long gone."
Gianella asked me to keep writing happy things and to read John Hansen's beautiful hubs because he has a good sense of humor. I appreciated Gianella's response and told her that I'd been reading a lot of hubs by different fellow authors, including John, who is one of those friends who is always at the top of my list. When I come online these days, all I feel is stress. I understand that people are frustrated and disappointed about a variety of issues, but it's enough to make you want to flee. I came online 5 times today and couldn't stay more than 5 minutes each time.
Then Steve replied: "Misbah - Let's start an ongoing "Only Good News" Forum where people can post those stories that have cheered them up."
So here I am if anyone wants to share something that can make people happy. You are most welcome. Please share any story, poem, or life experience that has cheered you up. Anything! Come on people, it's so fun to spread joy!
Thank you!
Great idea, Misbah. I'll admit, I'm more than a bit burned out by HP. Reading articles is cumbersome and none of our concerns seem to be addressed.
I'd rather read the newsletters I get from The Dodo and Green Planet, which I do daily. So much more pleasant!
I understand people's frustration, but it bothers me when I feel like I'm the only one opposing others and encouraging them to be positive. Ads had been there before, and earnings had been declining, but at least we had a place to comment on each other's work. The only thing on the feed now is forums... And too much stress.... I'm not blaming anyone, but I believe we all come online to do something different... to share our work and thoughts with the world.... to feel better.
Blessings and love
I am with you on this Misbah. I have been trying to come up with a new poem article that is positive and cheerful. Gianella’s words are extra encouragement to do so.
I actually get easily stressed if things go wrong, but try to immediately change the focus my attention on something more pleasant and uplifting.
In these times when there seems a lot wrong in the world we need to make a conscious effort to do that, but it is possible if we focus on the positive and others around us try to uplift and inspire.
I agree. I, too, am like you, John. When things go wrong, I, too, get easily stressed... I'm looking forward to reading your next article.... It's always a pleasure to read your words....
Going out of town with my family tomorrow... ... Somewhere where I can feel happiness and can relax a bit... I joined Medium...but I don't enjoy spending a lot of time there as well... Because of the stressful things I've been reading in my feed lately.... I'm writing fewer articles... It's as if inspiration has vanished.
Take care my, dear friend. Have a fabulous day.
Blessings always!!
Adding to recent life experiences of uplifting news here goes. Thursday I received not so good medical news. Long story. Anyway yesterday, Friday, I was standing at my credenza that is a file cabinet with my phone on it. I usually never answer the phone letting it go to the answer machine and listen for what/who salesman it is ha-ha
This time as it rang I looked at it and the cosmos spoke to me to answer it during the first ring, which I did. It was my Dearest Best Friend from Sweden who I recognized when she said, "Hi Mitch"! My smile at that moment was immeasurable as well as the warmth that filled me full. From that point forward it was mystical and magical!!
What is interesting is she is now in Greece helping a friend who has undergone eye surgery for glaucoma. And, she has not internet access at that home. I write her everyday, yet suspect she only sees them when in town at a cafe sipping coffee and people watching. I did inform her in my letter to her that day of the news. And, I live in the San Diego area of California.
The bottom line is as I see it the cosmos does its thing ministering to each of us in times of need. How is up to the cosmos. We only in those times is to be open and aware in the time of now and not yesterday or tomorrow. Amazing isn't it?
Thanks for listening . . .
Amazing! Tim, thank you so much for sharing. The cosmos is continually communicating to us, but only if we listen. We often fail to grasp the language of the cosmos. A friend of mine who is no longer alive shared a music video with me several times; the song seems to have a whole story, but I never looked at it that way until his death. Maybe the universe was speaking to me at that moment. I wasn’t able to grasp it then, but the music helped me heal later in life. I also published a story on medium about this a few days ago
Blessings to you!
Simply put, Amen!!! I am happy for that experience that brought you knowledge and ministered to you. Yes, the cosmos is simply amazing and it works in its time frame as I see it and not always in ours. As I see it the cosmos is always enlightening, teaching, and ministering to us. Sometimes unfortunately it is clouded by things like automatic negative thoughts, our pride, and other fuzzy interference, yet as they pass and they will eventually the ministry of the cosmos arrives!
I hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing time with your family tomorrow. A change of scenery I am sure will help. I just returned from a few days away and although it was a long drive it was still a welcome change.
I am trying to also be more active on Medium but it doesn’t excite me unfortunately. Maybe just a matter of time and getting used to the platform.
Let's share something to make people smile.
Okay, here's something to brighten your beautiful faces, dear friends.
Can you relate?
Nice things to think over and amuse oneself. Most of us go through such questions internally puzzling at the language contradictions.
It's really a crazy world, Misbah.
One more craziness to this. Talks to himself as if talking to a Doctor or neighbor, or anyone else. I mostly experience this while I may not really talk to them.
Oh my...
Well at least i talk to the kittys
Talking to oneself is a form of self-mastery; talking with cats is also beneficial.
Ron always said i talked to myself...
But i always said i was talking to the kittys...
But sometimes they were no where close.
But id like to think. The universe is listening
Bredz, your thoughts are lovely... We do send out vibrations into the universe, and they are felt and heard.
As for me, my parents usually tell me that I speak a lot while sleeping... I believe I am simply too brilliant.... first, I suffer from insomnia.... and then, when I finally fall asleep, I talk... I mean, look at how my mind is always working... what else would you expect from a genius.... lol!!
We don't know that secret to shutting our minds off.
I don't either...but once I'm asleep...i sleep.
I imagine all geniuses talk while they sleep....the universe is connecting with them.
Love these...especially the one about making mistakes
Hmmm... I'm not sure about this! What are your thoughts?... Only ladies, in my opinion, should comment on this one. It is a trap! Lol!
I would say that tendency is not restricted to women. I have often had my words used against me by a man.
Sherry, I completely agree with you. There are different kinds of people in the world, and the type of men you mentioned, undoubtedly exists in today's world.
If such women can exist, why can't men? I was just having some fun time.
Blessings and lots of love to you!
So true...
We remember words...men forget them instantly
There is a catch-22 situation here, Misbah. Everything you DO NOT say also can be used against you in arguments.
So slightly modifying the famous soliloquy in the works of Shakespeare.
"To say or not to say, that is the question."
So, aren't we (women) God's marvelous creation?
Silence is the best thing. It works wonders sometimes.
Through stillness,
God created and balanced speech.
All of the words would be too heavy.
If there was no silence.
Silence has the power to speak a thousand words all at once.
— Misbah
Sir, I'd like to share a poem with you that I wrote about a year ago.
Here's the link:
https://letterpile.com/poetry/My-Silenc … -18-prompt
Blessings to you!
Very beautiful, Misbah! Just, I went through it. Your message is very clear. Silence is the best way of communication.
That's how the sages and wise people communicate with one another through meditation.
Thanks for sharing this link.
I'm not for silence.. it's meaning can be misunderstood
Here’s something that’s made me happy, though it’s a personal experience. My laptop has multiple problems. I thought I couldn’t use it for writing articles any more because it wouldn’t connect to the Internet even when I restarted it. I haven’t used it for several days. I turned it on this afternoon and it’s now connecting to the Internet! I’m hoping it will keep doing this because it’s easier to create or edit articles on the laptop than on my other devices.
Linda, it is fantastic. I'm hoping it continues to work. I always enjoy your interesting articles. I also use my laptop for writing and editing articles, but the majority of the time, such as now, I use my phone or iPad.
Blessings and Love to you!
If you have not already, do not shut it down. Leave it plugged when the battery is low so that it does not shut off automatically and do not shut the screen.
The increased cost of the energy is much less than what you would spend on a new laptop. If there is corrosion in the motherboard sometimes things do not connect back up correctly when it is started up. (I dealt with this a lot when I lived on the beach, and keeping my computer all of the time was the only way to keep it functioning.)
Thank you John and Misbah for mentioning me on this forums.
I'd usually try to uplift and give encouraging words to people that needs it. But a lot of times, I, myself have been on the edge of just not doing anything. I lost inspiration, motivation, happiness, and things to look forward to. But then again, if we shrug it off our shoulders and try to look on a wider perspective, there are lots of things still to be grateful for. things to look forward, things to enjoy, things to find laughter to, places to find inspiration, people that'll make you smile no matter how heavy your day gets, and listening to the sound of nature carefully will tell you something wonderful.
I understand that its hard to cope and bring yourself together at times when stressful scenarios come at once all together. There's a process that is needed to go through for us to overcome difficult times. As writers, we will always be judged anyway no matter what we write about and how we write. So the key is, just write it out and let your words flow thru. Especially if you want to let your emotions and feelings out to the world, who knows you might receive overwhelming emotional support and empathy. We make mistakes and that's alright. They teach us our errors on the articles and we teach them ahead things they should be aware of next time so they won't commit the same error as we did.
Let's keep writing, to inform, educate, inspire, entertain, uplift others, and let it reach millions til they start talking about it and sharing it with others.
Stay blessed to all of you here at HP Community.
As for good news, there have been some new medical studies and advancements that is close to leading to find cure and treatment to people with Multiple Sclerosis. It's still a long way, but I guess time will come there will be cure! Something to be hopeful for.
I'm on the highway now, heading out of town. Hopefully, I'll be able to spend some quality time with my family. I would play with my younger brother, who would not be playing Fortnite today. Lol! And later tonight, we'll celebrate San Juan. I'm not good at playing with firecrackers, so I'm hoping everything goes well for everyone when I use them. Lol!
Blessings to all!
Have a great time on your trip. Wishing you and everyone here on HP good times and stress free days ahead. Yes, let's all concentrate on happy thoughts.
stay safe on firecrackers Misbah, we don't want anymore stitches on your body and we definitely don't want you to lose any finger. So just enjoy the festivities and celebrations. Stay blessed to you too.
I like the idea of writing about upbeat, happy topics. It has been a bit depressing here lately.
Glad you like the idea Pamela! God Bless u and sending hugs to you.
Here is my contribution to the topic, Misbah.

Awww... You are such a sweet and caring friend, John. It made me smile and I really loved it. I appreciate you so much for spreading happiness.
I loved this quote by Bob Hope:
"The good news is that Jesus is coming back. The bad news is that he's really pissed off."
These lovely lines in your poem are quite powerful:
"Why do others seek bad news?.....when other people suffer pain."
"So, let's all rebel against bad news,.......Light the 'Good News' fire."
"Don't let naysayers douse it,..... hate and fear make you insane."
I loved the commentary as well as the entire poem. Thank you so much for creating this beautiful hub, dear friend. You are a very thoughtful and supportive friend. I'm really grateful to you! Much gratitude!!
I was about to start a forum discussion for your hub but noticed that Chitra Di had already done so
Thanks once again! Keep smiling
Many Blessings to you and your family!!
I am glad you enjoyed my article, Misbah. How could I not support the "Good News" cause? I am also pleased that you liked those lines as well as Bob Hope's quote, I had to smile at that one myself. Yes, I just saw that Chitrangada created a discussion for my post. Blessings to you and your family also.
Misbah...
You have a good natured soul.
This is a wonderful idea.
I just finished reading a piece from John Hansen that highlights your earlier post.
I think everyone will love this idea...I'm in.
Bredz, Steve, I believe, deserves credit for this brilliant idea. I am grateful to him for this excellent suggestion. I'm so glad John was inspired by the forum post to create such an interesting and wonderful hub. It's amazing to spread joy. Isn't it?
I'm even happier that it made you feel good. I want to see you healthy and smiling.
I'll be back in town in about 3-4 hours. Will get back to you soon. Till then please take care of yourself ♡
Many Blessings and Love as always!
Good News!
I had a great day today. I had a good time with my family and a happy HP feed. John's hub made my day even more amazing. Thank you to everyone who has helped to spread happiness.
Here are a few photos I clicked today.
Cadaqués and Roses:
Enjoy!
I am glad you had an enjoyable time, Misbah. Thank you for sharing those great photos too,
Thank you so much, John
Stay blessed and have a wonderful day!
Happy St. Johns day. This is a holiday here. (Do Aussies celebrate saint days?)
Thanks, DrMark. St Patrick's Day (and St Valentine's Day) are the only ones we celebrate.
Happy St. John’s Day, DrMark. We celebrate it here in Spain. It’s known as San Juan
Blessings to you!
Here it is called São João, and even in the cities people dress up "country style".
DrMark, this looks great!
On June 23rd, we celebrate La Noche de San Juan with bonfires, firecrackers, dinner, and drinks. This festival is linked with some stories and rituals. It's very common to see people jumping over fires which, according to legends, cleanse the body and the soul. (Fun to watch.... hard to do!) Overall, it's a fun festival. June 24th is a public holiday in Spain and people like to meet up and have lunch together.
Misbah, I adore your movement of spreading happiness and good news. Thanks for creating this forum. And I am happy for you that you enjoyed and had a good time with your family in an outing yesterday. Loved the pics!
I drove to the Dairy Queen...
That Strawberry milkshake is delicious.
Whip cream on top...now that's good news.
Oh yes…now I remember. Sorry, it’s just a man thing. Thanks Misbah.
