What happens when you quit someone's fan club?  Does it appear in the hubtivity?  "Blah quit Blah's fan club."  Will the person know you've quit his fan club? hmm

Yes, I guess so. But I could be wrong....Are you planning to quit someone's fan club?

I don't think it shows anywhere.  If it does, it might only be on your own hubtivity.  The hubber whose fan club you leave will see they have one less fan, but I doubt their hubtivity would announce who left.

I would think so, too.  Has anybody ever tried quitting someone's fan club before? smile

I quit my own friend's fan club lol I convinced her to join HP and she did. But it's been 2 months and she hasn't written one single hub! So I quit her fan club. And I didn't care enough to see whether it was shown on hubtivity or not, cuz I told her about it in person when we had lunch. (And we're still good friends.) smile

    I might be. tongue

Seriously though, I'm not. smile  I thought I'd joined this person's fan club but it turns out I haven't.  But if the need arises...

See, I become someone's fan when I respect the person.  But when this person continually says things that make me go, "huh???", I lose all respect for him.  Thereby, I am no longer a fan of his.  I just don't want it announced to the entire community through Hubtivity that I've quit becoming somebody's fan because it might spark controversy. yikes

So now I'm wondering (since I've never seen "Blah quit someone's fan club." in the hubtivity page) if it does show up. smile

I have quit a few fan clubs, but I don't know if they were aware or not.

Hmm... Did it appear in the hubtivity page? yikes

Susan, I just joined your fan club.  It should show up on hubtivity.

In a few minutes, I will quit it, so we can see if it shows up.  Experiment!

Good idea.  I'll check my hubtivity and the common hubtivity page. smile

There was a "Stacie Naczelnik became your fan." entry a couple of minutes ago, but it just disappeared.  No "Stacie Naczelnik 'un-became' your fan."  Haha!  So that's it.  The line stating that you've joined someone's fan club just disappears when you quit it.  Thanks, Stacie.  That was actually a fun experiment. big_smile  Hehe...

I think, if someone leaves your fan club, they should be able to give a reason why that would be emailed to the Hubber.  Though, with the recent couple who left my fanclub, I think I know why. sad

I think that would be a good idea, Charlotte, although some might say that it would be dangerous. tongue  It's okay I guess when the person is open-minded enough to accept the reason someone quit his fan club, but there might be others who'll take offense and vow to take revenge.  Haha! big_smile

Yeah, the friending/defriending drama on LiveJournal has occasionally gotten so bad that some people have "friending policies" half a page long on their profiles. It's kind of ridiculous.

Okay, Susan, I left your fan club.  Then joined it again on accident (I'm silly) and then left it again.  Does it show?

So that's why the "Stacie Naczelnik became your fan." reappeared for a second or two as the most recent hubtivity, then it disappeared again. big_smile

I think most hubbers are mature enough to take it like they can dish it, though, so I'm not worried about it getting to that point, kerryg. big_smile

Me neither, though I have learned by now that one can never overestimate the potential for drama on the internet. wink

One of the main reasons I quit Friendster early on was that once you became someone's friend, you couldn't ever reverse that.
