I just stumbled across this place and the only information I really ascertained was that 60% of add revenues, but that doesn't really help me since I don't know what it is 60% of, so, how much money does someone typically earn from a good hub? Thanks and sorry for the potential obviousness of the question/answer. I assume this is delineated somewhere, but I can't seem to find the info.
I think the percentage is very fair considering Hubpages is an excellent way of getting traffic from the search engines which is priceless and compared to other 3rd party platfroms which cant ever compete with Hubpages all round!! having said that i know there are many people here making thousands of dollars a month through Hubpages alone (fact)!...........and its not me:(.............yet:) im always the optimist lol
The great thing about Hubpages is what ever your making at present for your work, you will recieve ongoing royalties which as mentioned pays off Bills and is a nice extra income!!....unlike the work i used to do doing surveys years ago which only payed me per survey i did and that was it!!!
Your Earnings will increase if you check out this article (hub) by Hubpages that has information and tips from Hubpage users that will help you attract more visitors which always equals more revenue:)
Goog luck:)
"Project banklink"
http://hubpages.com/hub/Project-Backlink
Search around the forums and you'll find people talking about their earnings. Search the Hubs and you'll find a few people have written Hubs about how much they earn, too.
HubPages itself says you shouldn't join HubPages for the money - you should join to enjoy creating Hubs, and regard the income as a bonus. That said, there are people who are making a reasonable income here - Relache and Maddie Ruud spring to mind.
I made nothing on my Hubs to begin with. Now I'm making around $15 a month (that's with 56 Hubs). Not much, but a darn sight more than I was earning at Helium, and I'm having at least double the fun.
I know I could earn more, but I'm too lazy! To really make money, you have to learn something about SEO - using keywords properly, choosing hot topics etc. Then you need to promote your Hubs (by social bookmarking, joining forums on related topics, getting backlinks etc) - in fact some would say you need to spend more time promoting than you do writing Hubs, because traffic is the key to earnings.
The short answer is $2 to $5 per 1000 visitors - and you are responsible for generating most of the visitors.
Hubs I don't promote get a handful of views a week, and basically earn squat.
If you don't like internet marketing or don't know much about it, don't expect to make anything like an income from HubPages. Just Hub for fun and blow the annual $100 Adsense check on good quality coffee and chocolate to sustain you during the Hours Of The Midnight Hub ....
Jenny
100% for coffee and chocolate!!?
Im coming over to your place lol
Actually Jenny, I'm going to get a six-monthly Adsense cheque at the current rate. Considering I don't promote, I'm happy with that!
Here's a little something I prepared earlier... How you and HubPages make money
Seriously, you will not make any money here. This is a place for writers to share their wares with others and get a little search engine traffic.
To answer your question you might make a few dollars a month but you will need a few pages to do that. Any one tells you they make good money here is seriously deluded. If they do then ask for a screen shot, you will not get one.
More importantly it is not about making money but sharing the community spirit where you can write hubs and participate in the forum. Reading other hubs you gain some very good advice in many walks of life.
If it is making money you want, then concentrate your efforts on your own personal blog.
Terry,
You don't know what you are talking about
And being rude to your peers never helps...
Terry, you're mistaken about this. Many people make several hundred dollars a month with HubPages, and a few make thousands. I, myself, have been making about $1000/month on AdSense alone, solely from HubPages.
I've held out on writing a hub about how I do it, for the simple reason that I don't like to sound boastful or come off as another internet marketer (in actual fact, I have zero affiliate links in my 175+ hubs), but the question gets brought up so often, I think I may just have to. Obligatory screenshot included.
Wrong terry I make around 500$(plus or minus 100$) a month from HP alone.
Best Regards
I'll chime in with the rest. Just counting my Hubpages earnings, I make about $300 a month from Adsense (and this rises every month), maybe another $150 or so from Ebay and from the few outside affiliate links I do have, at least another grand just from links on Hubpages.
With significant traffic it is relatively easy to make good money on Hubpages. Getting the traffic is the trick. I think I have fairly decent traffic volumes, but I'm not even close to being one of the top traffic generators here. If I was, I know I'd be making a lot more money and I sure wouldn't be bragging about it and having to prove myself with screenshots. I'd be too busy cashing my checks
My last check from Google was over 200.00 I am now recieving checks monthly. You are probably not going ot retire on Hubpages alone but coupled with other writing gigs, you can make a living if your tastes are simple.
If nothing else it is a great way to fund investments, pay off debt, or save for that European vacation you have always wanted.
Freudian slip there. Project Backlink. Not Clickbank. Clickbank is a vile affiliate at odds with the HubPages ad revenue model.
Ooops and lol.
Its been corrected!
Lord knows why i wrote that...! i do not use click bank at all.fact.!! i wonder what Mr Freud would say about that!!
lol anyway.
LOL He would probably say you are dreaming about using clickbank but find it unethical
lmoa
Could be very true:)
ps
Too be honest i have been interested..and am i missing out using click bank? is their a hub about the pros n cons anywhere>?
Misha, you should know;)
I agree with all of the above! You can make some money with Hubpages, but that is not the primary purpose of Hubpages. We are all here to learn, share and help each other. Also as with any honest venture - you get back what you put into it.

Once you have written articles here any earnings i earn is a bonus!!! I also love to tell people i earn on-going royalties which is well cool;)
Keep on Hubbing;)
Thanks for the diverse range of responses... together, it paints a pretty good picture.

I have just started, so I dont expect it in the near future, but how many hubs, or how many months before you start making money? How much traffic is considered to be good traffic? Right now I am getting about an average of 75 hits per day on 4 hubs. Is that good? What...

Basically, I mean that us hubbers put countless hours of work into writing one quality hub after another which in turn increases hubpages revenue, which allows them to enjoy the fruits of its writers dedication and labor. I know writing on hubpages is presented to us like hubpages is doing all us...

Hi,I've signed up and am ready to start making hubs in my specialised subject, but I was wondering what the earning potential of hubbig (if that's a word) actually is. I realise it all depends on how attractive your pages are and how good they are etc, but what are people actually earning? I am not...
