         Friends with Benefits is a euphemism for a friend that you have a "I'll let you touch mine if I can touch yours" relationship with that goes beyond elementary school. 
         
         Sort of the 90s/2000s version of hippy Free Love.

            kinda, yes but nowadays It seems to be most common in the workplace rather than gatherings or well known friends

         friends with sex occasionally but remaining friends, no emotional attachment, and best keep it very spontaneous

            in high school I had a relationship like this and again in college...It worked out for a while but then we parted as friends.  I do not think there would be any issue if I saw either of these girls again...it was a long time ago...Good luck

   Well...no, the opportunity hasn't come up lately.  I guess I'm too timorous, as well.

   YO, Timorous..........we are so the type of friends with benefits.  It's only a 2 hour drive, just to say hi.  Should benefits enter into he equation, so be it.  That's just the kind of friends we are, I just put the keys in the ignition, U get plenty of ..ah......um.......just see u soon my FWB!!!!!!!!!!!

   As a teenager I thought all my friends were "friends with benefits".
   
   There's no better way to get free cigs and alcohol than to feel up another girl. If you kiss them the boys will practically fall at your feet.

    I don't think that works as well, emotionally speaking, as some sort of real intimate relationship with a significant other.  Back in the day we called them "f*** buddies", "friends with benefits" sounds better, I must say.
