I have just visited the games section of these forums and the top 14 posts are all just spam from 2 individuals,is it me or has spamming got worse in the last couple of weeks or have i just started to notice it and its always been bad,I dont know why but it riles me a lot!!!!!
Flag their profiles as well, so that the spammer is gotten rid of as well as their spam
It's gotten pretty easy to recognize them quickly, though. When I do, I just go immediately to their profile and flag. Maybe we should all just agree to flag or report them as soon as we spot them. That's the only way I know of currently to do anything about them.
Hubpages are quite quick though i flagged one about 10 mins ago and he has already been given the boot...
yep and he has been followed by another whom i have just flagged!
I have seen people reply to spam and include the quote with the spam link in it in their answer; which must make even more work for the HubPages staff.
yes it probably does but you cant fault them they do an incredibly good job, well done hubpages staff!!!
I report that post as well, under other- and explaining why.
yeah, i think even if you are not sure it is best to flag as a genuine hubber will be able to justify what they have done0 starting long arguments is what the spammer wants as it keeps their link alive
yeah, the staff at hubpages must be sitting there on the attack.... only when the keep getting caught quickly will they realise its not worth the work and try somewhere else
Good point I never thought of flagging a response as well as the the first posting.

Why not require three hubs from a person before they can post in the forums? They would still be allowed to read to their heart's content, but they would need...

As mentioned in this thread: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/75200There are many spammers who still have thousands of hubs up, even if they are on probation. Obviously flagging an account doesn't work so for those of us who are still trying to help Hubpages in any way - adopt a SPAM account and...

It would be nice if we had the option to flag an entire profile, instead of just a single hub or post.

Usually the first thing I do when I log on here is to check out the 'New' hubs to see what's going on. I also usually end up flagging spammy hubs along the way. The thing is that the spammers seem to be following the rules, so I'm not even really sure whether to flag them anymore or...
