I'm looking for short scary stories to feature in this October's Fascinating Fiction podcasts- either to be read by myself or (ideally) by the author. They need to be fictional, relatively short (in just one Hub, especially), be free of grammatical mistakes and typos, and be free of pixelated or illegally used images. Do you have any suggestions for me? I'd love to see them!
Wow, I don't know. But you inspired me to write one. I will have it finished tomorrow and will send you an email. It currently is 1,321 words. I try to keep mine at least 2,000 words. Is that too long?
Oh, goody! Thanks Hyphenbird!!! I don't think that'll be too long. I'm really looking forward to this!
Okay. Here is the link to my scary story. I am kind of like Alfred Hitchcock, the buildup is the fingernail biting part. I hope you like it.
This story also reads like a Twlight Zone episode crossed paths with Alfred Hitchcock Presents. I wish I could think it would never happen in real life, but well, there is a black market and people do get desperate. It's the relationship of the people that creates the bizarre aspect.
All my hubs are 'frighteningly good'... does that count?
Here's a story I posted recently - not really sure if it truly is scary - but the situation is a little scary until the end *grin*
here is a good scary and yet somewhat comical story about a mobster a kid and a ghost. I hope you enjoy:

Well, for what my contribution is worth (not much)....

And it's not that scary.
And you get to be the reader.
I think the hubber, Lesleysherwood did one. I haven't read any other. I was thinking of writing a Halloween story but not sure how to gauge my imagination for HP. I tend to get too much into my stories and might get into trouble.
Well I wrote one about a how to change a light fixture - does that count? Just think of all those wires hanging down, just waiting to BITE you!
Best I can offer is a (supposedly) funny hub obout a first camping trip. Based on a true story, it is somewhat embellished and thereby fictional.

If it's not what you are looking for (and it doesn't really sound like it is to me), that's OK. I haven't written either scary hubs or fictional stories.
Invasion of the Glowing Green Cats
I've made some more changes to it. Is humor-scary allowed?
I wrote one on ghosthunting... not really scary (unless you count the fact that it is essentially a true story and that both of us are responsible for raising children)

Here is a scary story
I won't post my links but I have a lot of spooky stories posted on my hubs.
yes, I'd say that fits the definition of scary story.
You've already seen mine, but I will post it here anyway
Scary Halloween Campfire Tales: The Legend of Oomak
Do horror stories in poetic form count ?
I had fun with this one
I do have a story in mind, a true one. So I'll have to get to
Well, I've bee thinking about having a Hub-loween Horror Story challenge similar to one I proposed for Christmas tales, so perhaps it might work well for your purposes. I think fiction writers here deserve some exposure here occasionally, even if we make neither us or HP much money on the tales.
Actually Randy Godwin... you might be quite pleased by some stuff we have in the works! More on that soon.......
what about a summary of a blind date who was not what she described?
She certainly scared the hell out of me
Hyphenbird told me to stop by and submit a link. I love scary stories, so I am going to have to check out all the stories submitted.
I have two possibilities.

Well, Simone, you may have all you need here, but this thread inspired me to try my hand at it! A first for me to publish a short story.

Hey Guys and Girls! So, I've just started, I am very excisted about hubpages! I have published 4 hubs so far. Obviousy my traffic is low, I know that this is not a quick way to get cash but it takes time and patients. I would really appreciate it if any of you guys could give me some constructive...

Hello fellow hubbers! I have found it increasingly more difficult to get scared, I've been all over the internet so now I'm hoping someone here has something original and scary. Can't wait to see who gives me chills!

Is it true that links raise your hubscore and ranking in google? But does having lots of links to external pages just take readers away from my hubs?

Anyone have any REAL GHOST STORIES to share?
by NotPC 10 years ago
I have been experimenting with Google to find new techniques to drive more search traffic and I found one that is quite silly but has doubled my traffic within about a week of updating my hub. Here it is: THE RATING CAPSULEIt's really quite silly, but I added a rating capsule to the bottom of my...

I've been trying to make up a hub page for the last few days but whenever i try it i get told I'm doing something wrong, I attempt to change things but i get the same old nonsense.I've got better things to do with my life without messing about trying to satisfy the whim of some unknown censor....
